Directv satellite question for tailgating

Jun 9, 2019, 10:55 AM

Reading that most of the portable satellite solutions for Directv do not have HD programming. What are you using for HD or doing without? Can't switch to DISH.

Get unlimited data on your phone, download your TV suppliers app or ESPN app and get the cord to connect your phone to the TV. Been doing this for last 2 seasons and a lot less headaches

you will need a board, and a bucket of quick setting ready mix.

After that you are on your own.

Another option: I have the Winegard Carryout G2+. It is very good unit and is easy to set up. Depending on your receiver you may need an additional SWM. Winegard can provide you with any additional information you may need. However, it does not get HD channels. Last time I checked they want big bucks for a satellite that gets HD. If you decide to purchase this satellite, I suggest before unplugging your receiver for tailgating; go to the Direct Tv Setting menu and select Display, go to Hide SD duplicates and select. Scroll down to Hide HD channels and select. Doing this after setting up the Wingard is a pain in the derrière. After installing the receiver back home you will want to Hide SD duplicates.
I hope this helps.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.
