Death Valley flyovers

Dec 6, 2019, 12:07 PM

What was your favorite?

Also do you have any great pics of them with the DV in the background?

I love a good HELICOPTER flyover, personally!***

It doesn't take but one of those bad boys to get your attention. I live on the approach angle to Myrtle Beach and they frequently fly over our house at 3-4,000 feet and THEY ARE VERY LOUD!

the A&M game in the early 2000s. It was sonic boom type loud and a surprise

Sometime back in the ‘80s (I don’t remember who Clemson was playing), there was an air show happening in Anderson the same weekend. I remember during half time of the game, 3 or 4 WW2 warbirds flew over and treated the crowd to a mock dogfight over the stadium. Pretty awesome.

Military Day this year, because we actually knew one of the pilots.

I like the WW2 fighter flyover. You can see them coming through the entire National Anthem and they finally arrive at the end.

On the other hand, a couple of years ago I witnessed two F-15's pass about 1000 feet in front of me at a relatively low elevation at Mach+ speed on a test mission and it scared the poop out of me. It took about 3 seconds from the time I could see them approaching on the desert horizon until they were on top of me. I was anticipating the sonic boom and I still thought I was a dead man when it hit me. That's what needs to happen in DV. ;)

I didn't get to see all of them this year, but my fave from the ones I was at was definitely the A-10s.

The best flyover I've ever seen at a Clemson game though - easily last year at the Natty and that U-2. Just such a rare and incredible site!

The C-130 for the FSU game was my favorite.
