effective for keeping a weak minded team focused during game preparation. A more disciplined and mentally tough team will have great preparation based on what is at stake.
Emotional pregame antics are short lived and can create a mental and even physical let down several minutes into a game.
Rarely do great coaches emphasize emotion. Physical intensity and mental toughness are habits created in preseason practice and throughout the season. It’s those habits that create excellent play for the entire 60 minutes of a game.

And his record speaks for itself.
He has a reason for all of this. This matchup was clearly going to happen a couple weeks back and Dabo saw it and has seized the opportunity.
He wants them to think this game is about Clemson.
He would agree with them.

The OSU bulletin board is a Clemson collage and has been all season for them...
They have the score of last years game up all the time ...
Day and his team are obsessed with Clemson and it wouldn’t matter what Dabo said ...
They think they are owed a rematch and expect to exact their revenge ...unfortunately for them ...they don’t have the team they had last year ...

Bulletin board material is overrated. If Ohio State beats us then it won't be because they had bulletin board material. Just as Skalski and Lawrence talking about the ND fans after the first game this season didn't cause us to win. Those guys obviously remembered what happened with the fans, and I'm sure it made them feel that much better to go out there and dominate like we did on Saturday. However, does anyone think Skalski or Lawrence were going to be any less motivated to win the ACC Championship game had none of that stuff happened?
If Ohio State wins then I'm sure their players will bring up how last years game, and the comments made by Dabo motivated them, but it's not like they weren't going to try had Dabo voted them #1 and talked about how great and deserving they are.
