Dabo is 5-1 against SEC teams not named SCAR...

He needs to fix that SCAR record (1-5), but that's an interesting stat. Wins over Kentucky, Auburn (twice), LSU, and UGA. The loss at Auburn in the Cam year. He's 6-6 if you include SCAR. Not sure what that means regarding this year's bowl, but I think it means we really shouldn't fear whatever bowl opponent we face from that conference.

Very telling. Dabo is really good in big games vs any opponent not named scar or fsu.
We also seem to turn it over on the first drive of big games, at least we have in 3 of the last 4. We won one of those though.

I'd say he is 2-1 against quality sec teams not named SCAR. 3-6 overall.

Those are SEC teams you are talking about.....

they all were bowl teams except for 2012 Auburn. And don't you know that any SEC win is a quality win, at least for a SEC school? Unless by quality you mean "top 10" wins...but I would say that those would be a different category. Again, this stat reflects well on Dabo in regards to facing SEC competition, but it reflects poorly on his record against SCAR.

Regarding Auburn and Kentucky...
Dec 5, 2013, 5:02 PM
|
|
The 2011 team was 8-5 and won their bowl game. I would say that was a quality win. 2012 team...eh, they were bad, but obviously not completely devoid of talent. The Kentucky win was in a bowl game in 2009, they were better then than they are now.

The other common denominator of those wins vs the SEC
Dec 5, 2013, 6:10 PM
|
|
Dabo had a month or more to prepare. Other than Auburn in 2011 those wins happened in a bowl or were the first game of the season. Even in the Auburn win in 2011 it was game 3. We had played Troy and Wofford the previous weeks. You can't tell me we didn't prepare all off-season for that game as well.
Bottom line is Dabo does pretty good when he has a long time to prepare. Results haven't been too good when he's only had a week vs the SEC.

Didn't those other teams have an equal amount of time to prepare? Don't really think that has much to do with it. I'd say that Clemson was well prepared for the 2010 Auburn game...on the road against the eventual national champion....basically was right there with a chance to win it. It basically comes down to this....Dabo has done well against the SEC, even good teams from the SEC, yet has not done well against SCAR. But it's not, at this point, a matter of some giant talent difference with any SEC school. We can take the field with any of them, just need to figure out what to do with SCAR. I mean, twice in the past 3 years we have beaten teams that SCAR has lost to in the same season the week before they played them (Auburn in 2011, UGA this year). Didn't do us any good against them though.

Beating Alabama in the Orange Bowl this year will make it 6-1. Don't let us down.

I agree that he needs fix that record vs spurrior and I think he will once we get some key recruits. I say bring on Alabama because we want to show that we are a great team and this would be a great opprotunity.

Would be more ideal to prove this point versus a team other than Bama, who, lest we all forget was considered the CFB Dragon only a week ago, and have a track record in Bowl games of destroying teams. Forget the Utah game in year two of the Saban project. Forgetting that this Bama team is the beast that is would be foolish. It has recruited the top teams in the nation going on 6 years now and has the best coach,it is more than capable of busting some nuts on the national stage.

As soon as our HC and OC take off the training wheels we'll be all we want.
Not dumping on Dabo and The chad for they are maturing at their positions nicely and no, I wouldn't have it any other way.
