DRad be honest you fear you do not have $6 million to do it

Mar 18, 2017, 9:25 PM

$3.5 million to buyout Brownell
$1 million to buyout Wade at VCU
$1.75 million to give Wade in Year One (Keats just signed for $2 million at Nc State)

My prediction: Your unearned buyout fiasco that you signed on that contract extension is your biggest and #1 mistake so far at Clemson.

The only hope is another team come calling Brad and he leaves by his own choice. Otherwise I believe we will be watching the same old stuff again.

Brownell refusal to adapt to the new college game, keep insisting on defensive players, and playing a style of basketball that no high school players want is killing us. He is not a good motivator and for whatever reason does not impact his players during the game. His substitutions impact players and he needs to let them just play more. What other ACC coaches tell players during plays where to stand, where to run, what to do when you catch the ball, etc. as he directs every single play of the offense many times. Really BB let em play. Let's hope for all of us that you find something and Clemson gets a fresh start, otherwise money will tell us all what will happen here and I believe that means you will get another year with a strong warning from crappy contract DRad.

You must not be aware that we were a top 30 offense this yr.

While Brownell is a defense-first coach, he has made an effort the last few years to get better offensive players. That is what we saw this year, but unfortunately they did not play the kind of defense Brownell expects.

Hiring a new coach is a big risk. As bad as this program under Brownell is , it's really no risk. It will hit rock bottom next year and the new coach will have a much harder time. Wade is a great recruiter and a protege of Purnells style. If he's willing, hire him now.

6 million or not you just said that Wade is a protege of Purnell's style.
Please enlighten us as to what Purnell's style got us other than a one and done and a coach who
bolted to DePaul cause he knew he couldn't get the job done at Clemson.
And you want to hire his protege!

He's much more a protege of Shaka Smart

not Purcell. Shaka doesn't press 100% of the time. A lot of his pressure is with half court traps. Also a much more fluid offense
