DHEC is having vendor issues. Lol.

*We are still experiencing an internal systems issue. We are actively working with our vendor to correct this. Once the issue is resolved with the vendor, we will update the data within the County-Level Dashboard to reflect cases missing from today’s numbers.
And yesterday's numbers, and the day before's numbers (which haven't been corrected). Been 3 days now with incomplete data.
Whatever it is, it's interesting. In the past, DHEC's data was useless because they only posted cases confirmed for that day, meanwhile excluding other days. So there was a lag before new cases were accurate. So they built in a 2 day lag and the numbers became more accurate.
However with this new "vendor issue", it's impacting all reporting. In other words Johns Hopkins is not getting the data, much less DHEC sticking it on a graph somewhere and postdating it. It's just not there. We are truly flying blind now in SC. YAY!!! Furthermore, if there is a vendor issue, they knew about it two days prior, due to the lag. If it's not fixed now, then we're 5 days into having bad data.
It is interesting the vendor issues are also affecting death numbers. So this isn't a testing problem only.

I'm saying they are not doing their job.

At a time when they really, really need to be doing their job. I complained for months about their daily reporting. And they finally fixed that, just as I suggested and instituted a lag. They have since stopped their press releases. I had actually gone back to following DHEC's data since instituting the 2-day lag, when I had previously just followed averages from Johns Hopkins. Well, now Johns Hopkins isn't getting accurate data from SC even reported, just the same inaccurate numbers. That's different. That hasn't happened before.

They still report with a 2 day lag, and that was great.
It's just, well, not accurate now. And it's not because of a lag, but because of not reporting the cases period.
Here's the link to the raw data from Johns Hopkins. All it is is daily totals reported by DHEC. Just how many positive cases they recorded that day (could be for multiple testing days), but it's the total cases, which yields a relatively accurate 7-day average.
https://covidtracking.com/data/state/south-carolinaSouth Carolina Cases, testing, hospitalization, outcomes, long-term-care, and race and ethnicity data for South Carolina, plus data sources, notes, and grade.
https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/testing/tracker/overview/southeast
In the past, it was better to follow the 7 day averages from Johns Hopkins than DHEC's data because of the lag. But now the data is just not there on either site, and that's different.
