Cord-cutter network recording question for the experienced

Aug 25, 2018, 8:41 PM

ones out there. What's the best way to record games over the broadcast airwaves? This is my first football season sans DirecTV with DVR. Can record stuff that's on my streaming service (PS Vue), but looks like Clemson-Furman on CBS in my area. Will be at the game, but like to watch them later when I get back home. So what works best? Thanks for the help!

Stand alone Tivo. Very high start up costs though

You could always go back to the 90's and whip out the VHS

I do still have a VHS. Can't remember last time it was used.***

Tablo Dual Lite OTA DVR

Aug 25, 2018, 8:52 PM

https://www.tablotv.com/products/tablo-dual-lite-ota-dvr/

This can be a DVR like you had with cable.

If you go with live streaming Direct TV NOW it comes with DVR capability for up to 20 hours for free. They also have ABC and ESPN typical sport channels. $40 per month.

Or just use TABLO with your antenna channels. You will need a external hard drive to go with it to record it to.

I have TIVO OTA DVR. A little expesive, but gives you lots of storage. Also, you have a grid very much like with cable. Make sure you get the TIVO for over the air.

YouTube TV plus a service called Philo ($16/month) gets you everything YouTube TV is missing. Viacom stations, history, Discovery, etc.
