Coots drooling over Lattimore joining their staff. What did

Dec 17, 2015, 11:20 AM

He actually accomplish at sc that makes him a credible promoter of their program/university? He tweeted something about its about to get real at Carolina. What the hell does that mean? He never won anything there so what can he pitch to a recruit that is meaningful?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well, considering he has absolutely zero coaching experience

Dec 17, 2015, 11:25 AM

Lattimore sounds like a perfect fit for the CussChamp staff.

Not to mention he cant call recruits, he cant go on visits, and he doesnt even have his degree from there. The chickens get happy over pretty much anything these days.

Tanner/AD=Lattimore/Coach

Dec 17, 2015, 11:29 AM

Just because you are great at one thing does not mean you are great at all things. Who on our coaching staff was the best college player?

Streeter

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I understand their enthusiasm

Dec 17, 2015, 11:32 AM

They have few former players that want anything to do with the school after leaving.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Wait, did they change the requirement of needing a college degree?

Dec 17, 2015, 11:33 AM

Or did he get an ITT Tech degree over the weekend?

Won't join staff until he graduates in May

Re: Coots drooling over Lattimore joining their staff. What did

Dec 17, 2015, 11:55 AM

Does anyone actually bother reading details instead of just headlines.

Lattimore is NOT going to be a coach. He is going to work with players as a mentor. He is also in the process of finishing his degree.

Would we not be excited if Spiller came back and joined the staff? Lattimore is their Spiller. He's a great young man and a good "face" for their program. And with a program like that you need to get the best "face" you can. :)

They ran him in the ground

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's silly.

Dec 17, 2015, 12:02 PM

His knee would have gotten torn up being hit like that, even if it were his first carry of his career.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nah....

Dec 17, 2015, 12:19 PM [ in reply to Re:if he had come to Clemson he be playing in the NFL now, ]

Lattimore had two devastating knee injuries the result of which would have pretty much derailed his NFL aspirations regardless of where he played collegiately.

The Coots see what Dabo has done in bringing back former players and Muschump is trying to copy.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They love him and he loves USuC. Good for them.

Dec 17, 2015, 12:19 PM

I think the guy is a decent guy and as athletes go, he's got a lot of heart. Let them be excited. He'll be a good fit for their program. End of story. In other news, Clemson plays another football game on new year's eve and has a good shot at going all the way for a national title!

during his tenure (to Ellington), he has tremendous character and integrity. That has been lacking from Carolina.

Re: Coots drooling over Lattimore joining their staff. What did

Dec 17, 2015, 2:36 PM

Not to defend the idiots over there but Lattimore is a great kid. My old HS coach coached him in the Shrine Bowl. Had a full ride to USuCk on lock and still worked with the practice squad to get more reps at an all star game. Can't get a better kid than that.

He is not a coach. He is listed as a "staff member." They are probably wanting to use him to talk to incoming freshmen and to keep track of those kids to make their lives better. Just spitballing. No sources for that comment.

He is a great guy though even though his judgment when he was 18 was not that great ;)

Dec 17, 2015, 2:45 PM

their fans who think he can do anything just because he was a good football player. Although he won't be coaching, it is funny that so many of them think he will be and have even mentioned some of their other old players as being great if they came back to coach. Apparently they do not understand that just because you could play does not mean you have a clue about coaching.

Re: Coots drooling over Lattimore joining their staff. What did

It's amazing to me that someone with God-given talent, with no coaching or promotional experience, is assumed to be an asset to a team without any firm justification as to why.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe he can do pregame cheers all season long now.
