That post is vague at best. I know that he let Mike Vick's bro get away with murder but maybe I am missing some details of lack of discipline.
Surely he was no worse than, dare I say, Bobby Bowden at FSU. But I will check the details.

It seems to be a plan to show athletes the importance of remaining without blemish.
Now I admit to briefly searching the name you posted and rape accusations in a program are certainly grievous. (Googled after your post and before my response.) I don't know the outcome of such accusations and I hope that justice was found. But knowing the nature of college athletics, I'm sure it was not. I was unfamiliar with this history when I said Beamer was nothing but class. As far as I had known, he was a great football coach. Part of me would prefer to continue to think of him as a coach who went out as a good man, but I will check more carefully before taking up another mans cause from now on.

beamer, i believe in may of 2008 and removed beamer from all CAP responsibility, which was crazy considering he was forced to be a part of its creation after the bronzkala case went to the US Supreme Court.
he should have been removed after he hid marcus vick's continued trouble from vpi allowing marcus to play in the bowl against UofL. some folks would have/should have been fired for that alone.
Blacksburg, VA isn't exactly the center of the universe and he got away with a lot that other coaches at more prominent universities might not have survived.
crazy times in salem/christiansburg/blacksburg and the Star City.

He has had his moral ups and downs. He is not "all class." He ran a pretty shady program back in his Big East days.
