Coach Danny Ford

I was just reading the back of my VHS tape of the 1982 Clemson v Nebraska National championship game and 2 things jumped out that I never realized (mind you i wasnt even born when that game played)

1. Coach Danny was only 33 years old. That's amazing! I'm 36 now and just cant fathom being in his shoes at 33. And that made him the youngest coach ever to win a national championship and he still is to this day.

2. The defense only allowed 1 completion the entire second half. Amazing stat!

I was at the game so I will say this about it. Nebraska only threw the ball like 17 times the whole game. It was a different game back then I can't remember but I am pretty sure neither team had over 300 yards in total offense, heck I bet TL throws the ball more times this Saturday than both teams threw it in that game.

That's the truth!! I can't imagine either being 33 years...

old and the HC of the NC team. Just shows how good his assistants were as well.

That's a reflection of what he learned and experienced at Bama and then at Clemson as an assistant - just like it is for DS.

Nebraska threw the ball in the second half?

Clemson and Nebraska were both 3 yards and a cloud of dust teams, almost everybody was.
