Im afraid Stanford will eventually pass Ohio State and the winner of that game will prevent us from going into the #2 slot. I could be wrong. We need UGA and the coots to win out as well as FSU and Miami to be strong this year.

I have very serious doubts that both Oregon AND Stanford will be undefeated since they are scheduled to play each other on November 7. They both could have a loss after the conference championship since they are in the same division.

If we were ever fortunate enough to go undefeated this year, I feel confident in saying Florida State would win the rest of their games. They're a very talented squad...the same goes for South Carolina. I think it's very possible that Carolina comes into our game with one loss.
If we were able to go into the ACCCG with an unblemished record, I think there's a very good chance Miami would be there with only one or two losses (coming against Florida State and a random)
In my opinion, if we win we're in.

That's my thinking. A potentially stronger opponent in the ACCCG comes into play, whereas it really hasn't in the past.
Add in that the OOC win over UGA and SC, there's no way you can keep us out.
It would be absurdity exceeding that of the '04 Auburn debacle...

Bama - No. Oregon - Yes. I think the ESPN hype machine

would get behind us and influence enough voters to make us pass them in the polls.

I think when it comes down to it, a lot of coaches & media members rep their region if it's close (see any Heisman vote ever). If we were to come away from this season undefeated I think the fact that we would have beaten two high calibur SEC teams would earn us all votes from Carolina to Texas...and potentially points North.

@ UVA offers us a 1:1 measuring stick against Oregon.

Unfortunately UVA collapsed like a wet taco in that game 59-10. That could come back to haunt us if somehow we each win out.
@ NC State though is what I'm looking forward to.
Go Tigers!

Clemson could conceivably face FOUR Top 10 teams this year.

In order to go undefeated, Clemson would have to beat:
* # 5 Georgia (done!) * Top 10 FSU (already in the Top 10 in both polls with terible competition except maybe Maryland before we play them) * Top 10 South Carolina (in the Top 15 but with a creampuff schedule except for Top 20 Florida at home) * Top 10...Miami? (Sitting at 15th and 18th with nobody highly ranked but FSU to play until possibly the ACCCG).
If we go undefeated and beat FOUR top 10 teams, here is what we would possibly be up against:
Undefeated Ohio State - with their creampuff schedule, that would be pathetic that they would get in over us. Undefeated Alabama - Well...can't really argue this one. Undefeated Stanford - They would have to get by Oregon...that alone would be impressive. Undefeated Oregon - Stanford again being the big competition. Undefeated Texas A&M - Again, this would mean that they beat Bama, LSU and the SEC East champ.
Bottom line, we're not getting the nod over an undefeated SEC West team (Bama or Texas A&M...maybe even LSU). I'd be disappointed if Ohio State was given the nod over us, and I think we'd have a legitimate case against Oregon or Stanford.

The potential Clemson-Oregon matchup in the National Title Game should make ESPN drool. Imagine the hype machine on that one.

Yeah people are always afraid of the year there are more than two unbeaten but I think it only happened in 2004 right when Auburn got left out?
