Must pretend Lamar didn't personally lose to Kentucky

Dec 9, 2016, 9:38 AM

and forget when he fell on his face and fumbled on first and goal inside the ten which would have put the game away (in his MOST RECENT game at that) to even remotely think he is the best player in the United States of America. But prior to losing to Kentucky, Houston handed him his head on a platter. So back to back stink up the stadiums doesn't count in the Heisman voting. What the heck?

So DW throwing an INT to lose against Pitt doesn't count right?

I remember a former Heisman player saying "We

will not lose another game." Maybe DW will be like that Heisman winner.

I believe he will.

If Lamar only lost one game not 3, you are correct.***

DW is a winner and knows how to win games. Lamar puts on a great show but does not have the it factor that DW does. I would vote for our guy ofcourse but to day Lamar does not deserve it because of a fumble is ridiculous. DW has had a better Novemeber and won in December but we have to account Lamar's entire season. Both are deserving. If the Heisman was about winning DW would get it for sure but I am afraid the stats matter and Lamar has had an amazing year. To act like he had not is putting your head in the sand.

You going to also account for the fact he played a much easier schedule?

He certainly did but look at his stats against the 2 best teams he faced.

FSU
13/20 216 1 TD 1 INT
17 146 4 TDs

Clemson
27/44 295 1 TD 1 INt
31 162 2 TDs

I've said before Lamar isn't a bad pick for Heisman

Dec 9, 2016, 9:56 AM [ in reply to Re: If Lamar only lost one game not 3, you are correct.*** ]

That said, the bigger thing that would bug me as a Heisman voter would be the arrogant Heisman pose the preceded the fumble and lost game. The whole pride-before-the-fall thing.

Compounding that with the garbage time stats that pad his results, and the fact that Watson simply has a calm winning attitude on the field, I think (and admittedly I have orange colored glasses) that Watson is easily the better choice.

Re: I've said before Lamar isn't a bad pick for Heisman

Dec 9, 2016, 9:58 AM

I agree Watson should win but Lamar has a very very good case. We cannot be mad of Lamar wins. Some people on here act like it is just so wrong for him to win over DW. Last year would be more wrongful IMO.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You are wrong --- I can be mad if Lamar wins --- How can

Dec 10, 2016, 9:28 AM

the Heisman be awarded in September?????????????????????

And based on padded stats for Louisville and your buddy Lamar staying in the entire game against patsies when Clemson actually takes the first string out in a sportsmanlike manner.

Who the hell has their hand in the sand? Certainly not me.

Re: You are wrong --- I can be mad if Lamar wins --- How can

Dec 10, 2016, 9:32 AM

It isn't. Look at Lamar Jackson's stats taking out September and tell me they are still not the best. Don't be an idiot.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

You should actually add them up before speaking...

Dec 10, 2016, 9:38 AM

The Clemson-UL game was October 1st. So add up the stats since then. I know one right off is that he is 5-3 since September.

We don't be stupid and act like if Lamar wins it is a crime. He has amazing number in October and Novemeber. NOT just September. Maybe you do not know how to look up stats idk. W-L is not all the Heisman is based on.

The award has become the "flashiest" player who talking heads drool over not what it should be. Let's put it simply - you are starting a team and want to build a championship team the right way.... Watson or Lamar??????? Not even a good question.

FANTASTIC #s without question. The Heisman is much more

Dec 10, 2016, 2:19 PM

than #'s. I can't find Mike Bellotti's film breakdown of the candidates but he summed it up nicely, saying Heisman winner would be responsible for winning those games otherwise lost, not losing any games, and all of the other great qualities as a team leader and member of society.

There's much more that once defined it but I can assure you what we see lately is not it

Ky game he fumbled inside the 5 because of poor ball handling(which was a problem all season long for him. Was told this earely on as well)

Houston game sacked 11 times. This in itself is enough to say he isnt the best/ most valuable or smartest to get that trophy. Getting sacked is a bad decision. 11 of them for Lamar

I could go on and on like leadership/team motivation. Oct 1 one of his teammates ripped off his helmet in a tantrum. That's nuts period

Re: FANTASTIC #s without question. The Heisman is much more

Dec 10, 2016, 2:23 PM

It obviously is not. RG3 and Maziel had plenty of Ls. I hope you are right and DW wins but Lamar is deserving. I am tired of people being so disrespectful towards him. I think he has some growing up to do but he is an amazing player and we should respect it if he wins

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think HIGHLY of Lamar- but that is not the point being

DW threw an interception at crucial point of the game, in the redzone against Pitt... Does that one play not prevent him from winning the trophy to you?
