Dec 6, 2020, 6:40 AM

at the last minute and get get beat by Coastal.

That AD has got to feel real good about making that decision.

At least they played. On a different note, does Coastal make it through the regular season undefeated? They have Troy and 25th ranked Louisiana Lafayette left.

Without bait in the water

Game day exposure
Close game
Put up or shut up situation

I wouldn’t lose any sleep if I were him

BYU has struggled to even have a season while the Big 10

Dec 6, 2020, 7:07 AM

Decides that a 6 game season is good enough. Hats off to BYU for doing that.

Nothing but RESPECT for BYU

I admire BYU for playing this game with 4 days notice. They sent their equipment truck on its way a day before the deal was done.

I'm a BYU fan now. That kind of "anytime/anyplace" mentality is just awesome.

I thought it was a great game and great win for Coastal Carolina.Go Chanticleers!Coots might have missed out on a new head coach at a bargain price?!

Kudos to BYU... I respect their effort.

And FSU continue their walk of shame.

Yhe man sent their equipment truck...

Dec 6, 2020, 9:52 AM

WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING THEY WOULD PLAY. I have all the respect in the world for BYU. No shame in playing the game. It is a who hail of a lot more than I can say for the Big10/Pac12 gashes...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I would feel great about. A lot of us grew a lot of respect

Dec 6, 2020, 9:55 AM

for their program with that decision. I mean, on two days notice? Who does that? Fearless scheduling and great entertainment during a tough, tough year.

I think a lot of people underestimated the Coastal team and Coach Chadwell. If they hadn’t already sealed the deal and blew their load on Beamer before that game, the coots are beyond hope!

The national exposure they got from it

Dec 6, 2020, 10:08 AM

Might have been worth it though

Got no problem with it at all.

I knew it would be a close game because of the short notice and thought BYU would be able to overpower CCU for the win...

BUT, in hindsight, BYU traveled cross-country to face an RPO-option team on short notice....yeah, CCU deployed the best strategy to keep them in the game by draining the clock and never falling more than a TD behind - hats off to them for pulling it out!

Honestly, watching the first half I thought BYU would score every drive because they were gaining chunks almost every other play. I think BYUs QB started pressing too much to make a big play and they should have relied on the running game more - dude was avg. 8 yards a carry!

CCU tho...gotta love that underdog win!
