What is the call on that? If he is not in the stadium ,why couldn't be on the phone? Maybe not every play, but someone on the staff should be able to talk on a cell phone.

Not allowed due to the possibility he could gain advantage from watching on tv and phoning in plays. Same as it would have been for Saban. No contact inside of 90 min prior to game time.
