I'M NOT TRYING TO LOOK AHEAD! Just taking a peek - for fun.
The schedules mirror each other quite a bit. By their meeting on Nov 16, we'll have a big body of work to make comparisons - for whatever it's worth.
UNC: We both played the Heels in Sept, 2 weeks apart. Wake got 'em @ home. We were on the road. Wake was up 21-0 @ half - got outscored 18 to 3 in 2nd half for 6-point win. We were tied at 14 @ halftime - outscored UNC 7-6 in 2nd half for a 1-point win. Somewhat similar games.
Both are coming off byes this week. CU plays FSU @ home; Wake gets L-ville @ home. Then 10/19 we flip - CU on the road @ L-ville, Wake is home vs FSU.
BC: Wake's last game 9/28 before the bye. At BC - game was tied @ half @ 17. Wake outscored BC 10-7 in 2nd half to edge BC 27-24. CU plays BC @ home on 10/26 - - Wake has bye #2.
NCST: After the bye, Wake gets NCST @ home 11/2. CU home vs Wofford. On 11/9 CU plays NCST on the road, the week after Wake plays them. Same day, Wake's on the road vs VaTech.
11/16: Wake comes to CU. If both are undefeated or have identical records, it'll for sure be interesting with a lot of common opponent games/schedules to compare.
Merely pointing this out for fun, but for now, ONLY CARE about dispatching FSU.
Playing an undefeated Wake for the Division title sure would be interesting, in a "is this really happening?" kind of way. I'll give Wake credit for fielding a better than average team this year. However I don't see them making it through the rest of their schedule undefeated. It's certainly possible, but not probable.
