Bill played that entire year on two bad achilles and without him they don't make the playoffs in 86. Boston treated him almost as bad as they treated Bill Russell. When Buckner finally came back to Fenway-some idiots put up a poster that said that they "forgive him". For what? He was a class act all the way.

What people forget is the guy had over 2700 hits in his major league career and as a life time average of .289. Not bad at all. Rip mr Buckner.

People forget it was GAME 6, and Boston was leading in game 7 only to eventually lose. Also, even if he makes the play in game 6. it would have resulted in an additional inning, but would not have won the game.
