Basketball expectations

Dec 23, 2015, 10:25 AM

I honestly don't enjoy basketball at all but figured that due to the arena construction there would be some downtime in recruiting and we would likely have an off few years.

Do the basketball fans feel recruiting players to play in Greenville is not a huge downside?

Or do they feel even with this issue we should still be better than we are?

We bash Miami recruits for electing to go to a school that plays away from campus I figure we'd expect some down years here.

Not claiming anything, just curious on the bball fans thoughts on this.

The administration does not support basketball. That decision was locked in when they decided to re-do Littlejohn with only 8000+ seats.

Re: Why a bigger one? We can't put 2k in the seats.

The new Littlejohn

Auburn built a similar-sized facility with the students close to the action and created a home court advantage they never truly had before. It's a very different environment now.

Ole Miss moves into one next month and it makes sense given the small town environment.

There are reasons to be disappointed about tiger basketball, but the new arena isn't one of them.

8,000 seat is fine. Cameron is around 9,300.

UCONN seats 10,000

Gonzaga seats 6,000

Stanford under 8,000

Playing in Greenville this year has very little to do

with the current state of our basketball program. We have much bigger, more serious problems.

HERE IS SOMETHING I KNOW NONE OF YOU GOOBERS WILL HAVE THE STONES TO ADMIT. PLEASE, BEFORE BUTCHERING COACH BROWNELL, LET EVERYONE KNOW IF YOU WERE ONE OF THE ONES YELLING FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOP TO GET HIM A CONTRACT EXTENSION 2 YEARS AGO SO WE WOULD NOT LOSE HIM. GUESSING I DONT GET MANY TAKERS ON THAT ONE.
