THX 1138, George Lucas's big screen debut about a future dystopian society. When the protagonist's "watcher" asks him what's wrong and if he's taken his medicine it'll make your skin crawl.

Logan's Run with Michael York and some hot Australian chick. In another future society, no one is allowed to live past 30 unless you win a game that, literally, no one ever wins.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgmilitary_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Logan's Run

May 6, 2020, 10:02 PM

Funny you mentioned this one: I have it on my book stand by the front door.

In mid-March a friend told me this Corona thing reminded him of the apocalyptic 'nobody-lives-past-30' genre of movies. He told me about Logan's Run, so I got it from the local library. Then the library closed. By the time our Augusta library reopens on June 1, I'll have had that movie over 10 weeks.

And yes, Jenny Agutter is a babe. Funny though, because Farrah Fawcett received higher billing for a very brief and bland role.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Logan's Run

May 7, 2020, 8:59 PM

I apologize for taking so long to get back to you to you. I honestly didn't expect anyone to respond.

I haven't watched it in probably 30 years but I still remember well, the reaction of the crowd in the city center, when Logan and his girlfriend announce to them that they won't die if they don't play the game. It does remind me of this Corona thing.
