I would question their motives given his contract structure.

Nov 21, 2014, 12:16 PM

He was the only player in the Boston game to have a positive(+4) in the plus/minus column for his time on the court.

I don't blame him.

It is a real shame... considering they only have him for a year. He is perhaps the only player on that squad who is playing hungry and with a chip on his shoulder. Even though his talent is not quite there with the NBA starter standard, I would bet on his freakish athletic ability any day.

Nov 21, 2014, 12:25 PM [ in reply to I would question their motives given his contract structure. ]

He should have stayed one more year to work on his game, and not come out when so many topflight freshman were also coming out. One more year and he would have been a first round pick.

I was think g along the same lines. If they are limiting his

Nov 21, 2014, 2:55 PM

PT because he signed a one year contract and they don't want to pay him long term next year, would he have been better off staying another year and getting into the lottery?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not to be an armchair coach here...

Nov 21, 2014, 12:25 PM

But news flash to Coach Brown...the Sixers SUCK...KJ has proven so far that he can guarantee points for your team and prevent points from the opposition...but yeah, not playing him is probably a good idea. /sarcasm

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They're limiting his time for contract reasons

Nov 21, 2014, 12:51 PM

if he has bad numbers from not playing all year, other teams might not offer him as much money at the end of the season, so it will be cheaper for Philly to keep him.

They're already tanking on purpose for draft picks, so this isn't a reach at all.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Other teams see his stats come in limited playing time

Nov 21, 2014, 2:21 PM

They aren't stupid. If he can average 10 points and 1.5 blocks a game only getting 22 minutes, that's pretty amazing. Somebody will pick him up.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

they're already tanking

welcome to the NBA

AKA

Nov 21, 2014, 12:26 PM

Not ready, should still be polishing up in school

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He would have been a lottery pick this year

Nov 21, 2014, 12:28 PM

no clue why he decided to leave for the deepest draft since 2003.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

agree with lottery pick

Nov 21, 2014, 12:53 PM

but i dunno about deepest draft since 03

Nov 21, 2014, 12:52 PM [ in reply to AKA ]

He's one of their best players and their coach isn't coaching to win games.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: AKA = coach on hotseat

Nov 21, 2014, 12:58 PM [ in reply to AKA ]

...there are only a couple of players on that entire team that are more ready than KJ. that team is FULL of rookies and first year players and none of them are proving to be more ready than KJ. and considering how the losses are stacking up, da coach needs to do something other than what he's been doing with the rotation...

The Sixers are purposely tanking again to try to get

high draft picks.

They have a ton of washed-up has beens and even some guys no one has ever heard of. They are paying most of their starters the league minimum.

I'm sure they are not giving him playing time on purpose to: A - Keep sucking and losing games, and B - keep his potential offers down at the end of the season.

Their top picks from last year are out for this season (injured and playing in Europe).

The coaches comments are exactly why he should have stayed***

Welcome to the NBA KJ

Nov 21, 2014, 1:45 PM

And sunny Philly

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Philly is probably inentionally benching their best players.

Nov 21, 2014, 1:54 PM

They aren't interesting in winning games this year at all. After tanking the 2013/14 season they purposely drafted two top 10 players that they knew couldn't play this season. They will tank one more year and then try to build something with all of that talent in the 2015/16 season and beyond when Embiid is healthy and Saric comes back from wherever he's playing (i think Turkey).

Re: BKB Update: McDaniels frustrated by the lack of playing time

It's always Sunny in Philadelphia!

Not really.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Should have stayed a Clemson one more year and gotten all

Nov 21, 2014, 3:02 PM

the playing time he wanted. Maybe player of the year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NO Sympathy, KJ...

Nov 21, 2014, 3:29 PM

When did you guys become TMZ? IMO, you twisted KJ's quote into something juicy.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He should probably start. The team is tanking for next year

Team Stats

4th in PPG
11th in RPG
10th in APG
2nd in BPG
7th in PF's
5th in PER
7th in minutes
4th in FG % 46% (Behind 2 C's and a PF). Leads all SG's
2nd in 3PT% 37.1% (Really leads the team here. #1 only took one shot so far, a center)
6th in FT% 68% Leads all SG's

Statistically he should be a starter IMO. I haven't seen him play but that's just what the stats tell me. Coach is tanking for a #1 pick.
