BAMA, SUSPENDS block seating for orgs. wish Clemson would

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9880250/alabama-crimson-tide-punish-students-leaving-early
Bama suspends block seating for 20 student orgs for showing up late and leaving early in the game. In my opinion, Clemson has the same problem. A LOT of great seats wasted. I'm all for the students getting tickets to the game, but lower deck and better than many iptay donors isn't ok with me. Considering they don't have to travel to the game, etc;. It's not asking to much that they actually show up and stay if they request a ticket.

Good! Clemson should absolutely do the same.

Far too many of these kids have an entitlement mentality. Educate them on how the real world works and do what's best for Clemson athletics. That's a win, win.

Waiting in line for FSU, Carolina and bowl tickets... you might be 10th in line but when one of the people ahead of you is in one of those groups, you could have 40-50 people ahead of you in line, none of whom were present for any of the time you waited. Something about that just didn't smell right.
For the times when the seating is full, that's where you really felt the burn from the blocks. When it wasn't full, they were, more often than not, a good staple of the crowd. Like anything, there's pros and cons.

All of them...

If you read the article...students will get to keep their tickets, but won't have huge blocks for frats etc. i understand the students are the loudest, for the quarter and half they are there. That's awesome. They can be loud from the upper deck. Put paying IPTAY members down there that stay loud the whole game. The HILL is 100% for students always but round the corner and into actual seating needs be taken away from these student orgs.
If they must stay lower deck, put them in the corner over by the visiting team and their fans... Really get in their heads.

I want DV to be a hostile place to play, but I don't want to create conflict. I'm for keeping the students away from the visiting team's fans/band. Lower deck, being loud near one of the sidelines/endzones is a much better location. That said, empty seats aren't acceptable in those places...
I like the Hill suggestion but during my time as a student I probably only sat on the Hill 3 or 4 times (by choice, not by being late for tickets)... I always preferred to have a seat for watching the bands and just to keep a placeholder on my space... you don't get that with GA seating.

south stands to lower north by the visitors, displacing other longtime IPTAY members? And by not allowing block seats for orgs, how much longer will the lines be for tix if everyone has to get in lines? Tell us what your real beef is?

The OP obviously has an issue with frats as he singled them out in the student orgs.

Way it is. Only change I make is the blocks that don't remain full get moved to the end of the pecking order for block seats. Make it a competition of sorts. Whoever kept their block the fullest gets the best seats for next game. Gotta be some way to monitor that.

the only organizations that get block seating, right? Ex: RUF, FCA, club football (when I was there at least)....so right now you're coming off as the typical douchie frat guy "we're better than everyone else" mentality. It's really not that hard to join a frat either

Had a few good points until that half-tard comment. Dumb$:&.
That's it. Mature successful members on here are mad they weren't in a frat? Lol. First, do research first, many were and secondly you are either actively still in one or holding onto your college years to closely with that type of comment.

Not sure if it would work at Clemson, but UF does this. Students between tbe 30s all the way up behind opposing team. Maybe if only limited to first 15-20 rows at Death Valley it could work.

And they probably get moved around randomly. So tie an incentive to it. You keep your seating block filled and you keep your area or get moved to a better location. Maybe what is happening right now is some blocks that rarely get filled are randomly getting out where it is more obvious that attendance is poor.

Moving students to the upper deck is ridiculous

I know the blocks cause issues but suggesting that students be moved to the Upper bowl will do nothing but tick them off and cause the atmosphere in the valley to suffer (tremendously).
What about Central Spirit? They are a block, at least 90% maybe even all of them were still in the Valley when the game ended for FSU.
We just need to have someone in student ticketing to create and enforce a seating chart for the blocks. You could base a priority system on time of arrival, attendance in 3rd quarter, and end of the game.
Punishing the WHOLE student body for the behavior of 2-3 organizations is not appropriate. They make up the current population of the University you are pulling for.

Alum, IPTAY donor, AND season ticket holder. If you'd like to square off, get your facts in line first legend. Happy to hear what points or opinions you have though...
Read the post. Not trying to replace students. They all deserve tickets just like I did, but the system currently in place is flawed. Main issue, block seating in the lower deck...
