I just finished listening to Dabo, Darian, and Trevor address the media. They all 3 differentiated between a players association and a union. I'm not to big to admit I jumped to a conclusion based on the involvment of the Pac12 movement. I apologise. I'll attempt to be quicker to listen and slower to type.

Thanks Trevor for all you do and have done for our great university and the game of football.
Also for setting a great example for our youth. We are more than proud for your representation while at Clemson and have no doubt your future endeavors will do the same.

Excellent, and if we have seen Trevor in a Clemson uniform for the last time, he leaves with one of the two NC wins in the last decade with his name on it as the leader of the Clemson Tiger National Champions, and he took us to another NCG. Trevor has done as much and more than most QB'S that has ever lined up behind center for Clemson University FB program, and I personaly feel that we were lucky to have had as a member and a leader.

For the ones that can't accept that as, that is all we'll get out of Trevor Lawrence during his time as a Clemson Tiger, just remember, we only got two seasons from Trevor bc of the things that he couldn't control, and if he had been allowed to play his final season as a Clemson Tiger, his chance of doing what no Clemson QB had ever done, and that would have been to win two NC and played in three during his time as a Clemson Tiger.

The way that Clemson is set up on defence this season, and with it being known that defences win championships, our chances with Trevor as our QB was as good as any season ever for winning a second NC in his three years as a QB at Clemson. From the bottom of my heart, I truly thank Trevor for choosing to play FB at Clemson University, Thank you Trevor Lawrence for everything!!!!

This COVID disaster and the way it has been handled is all on Trump. We are the WORST country in the world in the number of cases and deaths as a result of inactions of the Trump administration. To this day he tries to spin his way of his so-called "hoax".

Had he been on top of things in January and created massive testing and tracing we would be talking about reopeaning the country. Instead, we now have massive infection rates. Now billions of dollars in lost revenue for universities and colleges is the likely.

I won't even discuss what Trump and the rest of his goons have done to destroy America and I don't care if anyone on this site agrees with me or not. America is in deep trouble...

Your assessment of what Three/Fourths of Americans believe isn't looking good for your opinion bc, the majority of the population in America believe that Trump dropped the ball in tha handling of the covid-19 virus, but that is your choice in what you do or don't believe, I'm with the Majority!!! And bc of the way Trump kept going back and forth with bad info he was being fed about the covid-19 virus, America will have to live with 4 years of another Democrat leading our country, and that saddens me to the core!!!

into straight up communism!? First, Trump have every state the ability to control the COVID-19 pandemic as hey saw fit. Democratic states are falling into ruin, while others are fairing much better. If you have anger, place it in the governors. The emergency powers act chapter 50 (and the 13th amendment) gives state governors all the power during a pandemic. By staying out of the fight, he did not overstep his legal boundaries.
I’m a physician and on EVERY experience I have had with COVID-19; the virus is real but the narrative is a lie. We are offered $6k to offer a positive coronavirus case, even if they never had a test. We sent in 36 vials of distilled water as Covid-19 tests, which came back as positive tests. We are offered $9.6k for every death we sign to be associated with COVID-19. We are paid $14k for every patient we put on a ventilator. I could care less what you do with this information. Even with all of the artificially inflated COVID numbers, the death rate keeps dropping further and further. Of the 756 cases I have treated, none had much worse than headaches and flu-like symptoms. Of those 756, 489 were asymptomatic. Look at the CDC’s numbers; young people under 24 have hardly died at all. In fact, the exact number is 4/1000ths of a percent! There’s no reason to close schools.
I hate to say it, but this has been the greatest Shem in human history. When the truth comes out, it’s liable to start a civil war. All of my patients are woke, and they are voting for Trump in their own admission. Those with eyes to see and ears to hear know the truth. Time to take the red pill and see how deep the rabbit hole goes!
All that said, politics has no place in this forum. You’re free to express yourself in anyway you want. But, do so at the expense of people reading your posts. Wake up, don’t wake up. It doesn’t matter. The infiltration OG the Democratic Party begin with FDR. It is complete now, and it’s like all the members of that party have gone insane. I never thought I would see the day that the Democrats were openly socialist, which is the final step before communism. I don’t belong to either party. They are both broken. Their members are sheeple who blindly follow whatever the propaganda machine is spewing. If the left gets their way, the US is Venezuela. Done!

Aug 10, 2020, 4:42 AM [ in reply to that's the dumbest thing i've ever read on here ]

Trump DID call it a hoax.

Trump DID disband the Pandemic Team.

Trump DID urge states to open up before meeting it's own set guidelines. Tweeting "Liberate Michigan" for example.

Trump DID say "it would just go away".

I know there are a lot of conservatives on here but there is NO denying the Trump team did a horrible job dealing with this crisis.

He will lose the presidency for it as well because the 30% that would vote for him if he did shoot someone on 5th avenue aren't enough to get him elected thank God.

As a matter of fact, liberals are the ones who speak like they are about peaceful change, yet use hatred, violence, looting, rioting, and anarchy straight out of the fascist handbook! You need a history lesson. Your party is in open socialist, heck communist territory! You THINK the majority is going to vote for socialism?! You’ve lost your mind. I’d rather have 40 more years of Trump than one year of this insanity your party is pushing. You’re going to see a landslide for sure, but it’s going to be for ANYTHING other than Joe Biden! He is the worst candidate to ever have his name on the ticket! America is waking up! But, it’s contrary to YOUR belief! If you want communism or socialism, move away. It will never be in power here. If it is, America will be no more. No more freedom, everyone will be an employee of the state and destitute. Use a dictionary if some of the words are above your intellect.

I'd like to see some 'FACT CHECKS' based on your opinion if you have any. Everything I find that is Factual and not opinion says that he acted faster than most. As for Tests, we are TESTING more, so therefor we are finding more cases than other countries... doesn't mean it doesn't existing. Ignoring something by not testing, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. See the daily number of tests per 100,000 population here, alongside a % of positives tests. USA is 2nd in testing and even still we are way down the list on % of positives. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/testing/international-comparison

Again, not arguing just hoping you can share with me some proof of your comment, I am open minded and would LOVE to see some actual facts to prove your comments. I am in mindset that they are just false opinions being spread, until I see the proof. Please change my mind.

Re: TNET: As rumors swirl about college football, Trevor Lawrence finds his voice

Aug 10, 2020, 11:08 PM

Your train of expression on this thread has steadily deteriorated.

Now a person who disagrees with you has to be misinformed by unreliable media, even though you offer no data to support your case? (Kudos to Pac Beach Tiger for at least offering data.)

What if I told you I support President Trump in spite of reading the NYTIMES daily? Salon? The Atlantic? Vox? Huffpost? The Hill? Politico? The Oregonian? I laugh at CNN. I'm the crazy guy that argues with NPR in my car. I do ignore the late night comedians because they violate their free speech requirement of being funny (they're not supposed to lie about political figures unless it is clearly parody to a reasonably well-informed viewer. Well, apparently very few reasonably well-informed viewers watch them, because no one believes their schtick is parody anymore.)

I have read a few articles that raise valid concerns about our Covid response, but most are the spewings of rabid writers who buy into the urban mythology that their own toxic city environments are caused by other people who, just like you, don't appreciate how smart they are. They hate being dependent on the Heartland for survival. So they have to convince the Heartland that we need them.

Understand this: 2020 has been the best year ever for media businesses. That's all you need to know. When protests can't generate clicks and ad dollars,it's back to Covid-19.

But here's the thing about President Trump: we didn't elect him to talk. We elected him to do things.

(BTW, I called Obama "President Obama" every time until he became a former President, so I don't know why you can't call President Trump by his title, too.)

Your biggest anti-Trump complaint is that he isn't fascist enough to have stopped this worldwide plague outside our borders.

Remember the travel bans? "Oh, no, you can't do that!"

Nancy Pelosi marched maskless through Chinatown to prove Trump wrong. Joe Biden wants to play kiss-and-make up with the Chinese. Andrew Cuomo sent thousands of people to their obvious deaths but today is praised for weeding out the weak so the rest could live.

Madame Speaker spent 3 years trying to railroad a legally-elected President because she couldn't accept the election results. Then she found an impropriety that numerous Congressional reps admitted wasn't against the law but they voted to impeach anyway. Meanwhile on the other side of the world no one was watching the Chinese because we were all arguing in our sandbox.

It's easy for children to say "Trump dropped the ball!" because he embarrasses us sometimes.

The rest of us who voted for him say, "We tried to tell you not to try to turn the pit bull into a pet. But no, you just had to have a pet. Now that he's peed on the carpet, I'm not getting rid of him. It's your fault he peed on the carpet."

Every other pandemic germ in history is still with us. Covid is not unique. Read your science book--even bubonic plague is still here. Joe Biden or Hillary wouldn't have done any better than President Trump without being even more fascist than he was.

So I ask you again--is your greatest complaint that he wasn't fascist enough?

I guess your right, if you believe so strongly that he's done soo poorly, and can't give me one trace of evidence then NOBODY can help me. You can't educate anyone, because you have no facts to back you, and you know it. Educate myself and stop listening to the media? The problem is I don't list or read either of the media outlets you mentioned. I look up facts, and for my own opinion (I understand if this is difficult for you to understand). I am not republican or democratic. I am not a leftist, socialist, or right wing. I am (if anything) independent. I voted for Obama, and I voted for Trump. As we stand I will vote for Trump again... but I am not trying to get you to convince me of who is right or wrong (I can tell you many things I disagree with Trump on) but I REALLY want someone to show me, why Trump has done wrong in this virus. OPEN MY EYES, i want you to. I really believe the country can be divided into two 1. Those who believe FACTS 2. Those who believe OPINIONS. I believe you are one who believes in other peoples OPINIONS, so just give me some FACTS, and I will change my mind.

It definitely is not “all on Trump.” Anyone who thinks that is simply not looking at the facts. Trump is in favor of starting the season. As far as his response to Covid 19 is concerned he closed flights from China and Europe well before anyone agreed with him. He quickly mobilized American industry to rapidly make ventilators and PPE. He challenged the medical community and FDA to streamline the vaccine approval process. He built field hospitals and brought floating Navy hospitals to NYC and LA. Unfortunately those state governors didn’t properly use those resources. He gave state governors the responsibility to manage Covid 19 under the National Guidelines of the CDC. Some have done a good job. Some have not (Cuomo, Murphy.) President Trump called the media narrative a hoax, not the virus. He’s lost close friends to Covid 19 so he knows the virus is for real. Look at the facts my friend.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: TNET: As rumors swirl about college football, Trevor Lawrence finds his voice

Aug 10, 2020, 1:27 PM

Here’s a novel idea: Let’s all just accept the fact that pandemics happen all the time throughout history and that we have to get on with our lives. That includes playing football.
Yes, sadly, tens of thousands of people have/will die from it. No question. Accept it.
As sports ramp up, either now or next year (you’re kidding yourself if you think come January the discussion of canceling sports in the spring won’t come up...kicking the can down the road won’t change that), there will be more people that die. No question. Plan on it.
Again, tens of thousands have/will die with a positive COVID-19 test (notice I didn’t say ‘die from COVID-19’, but that’s another discussion), BUT that pales in comparison to the tens of MILLIONS who have/will lose their livelihoods!!!
(See: Millions unemployed and the thousands of businesses forced out of business since the bands placed by our law makers over this virus)
I ask you, what’s worse?
How would you rather live?
Scared and like a groundhog, afraid to come out and see your own shadow? Or someone like the great pioneers who founded this country or our troops who fought for this country and would not be deterred and wanted not just to live, but to live on their own terms?
That’s the true battle we have right now. It’s totally political and if one law maker makes a decision that, I say this loosely, ‘jeopardizes’ someone’s life regarding the virus, then he/she will be figuratively hanged by the media.
This is all convenient outrage in an election year that, regardless who wins, will magically not be as big a big deal come Nov 4th. You watch.
So much hypocrisy makes me sick. Thousands of people can rub elbows, trade sweat, scream verbal diatribes while spreading oral mist over others without social distancing during protests and the powers-to-be would not think once about ticketing them. But, God help us, the Covid-19 police are all out in force when it comes to playing some football, getting back to school, and really just getting back to our livelihoods. What a bunch of righteous sheep!
Trump is not the problem. I’d call him out if it was. (In many respects, back in January he was WAY ahead of most, including Pelosi, Biden, and Fauci. Fact. But that’s not the point and others can disagree if you choose to.)
This is way deeper than him or any other politician....
It really comes down to one thing:
Do you accept being told to stay put and live in your shell and not getting on with your life on your own terms? (All the while everyday the goal posts on what’s allowed and not allowed keeps changing....hmmmm???)
The great country singer and former Clemson FB player, Lee Brice, sings: “I’d take a couple years off my life, than life off my years.”
Amen....
Spot the football ??!!!
