Any update on Galloway, Giella?

Apr 20, 2019, 11:31 AM

The longer this goes without an answer from Clemson, the less confident I am that this goes away. Should have had an answer by now if inadvertent.

Last i heard they had to present their appeal by April 1

That was nearly 3 weeks ago.

It is not as much of a matter of whether it was inadvertent, as us proving that it was inadvertent. I kind of agree with the NCAA that they can't give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to punishment, or everybody would just claim that the test was false. At the same time, I do not have any doubts to their honesty, and feel bad that they are caught up in all of this.

Sure hope JL can master the mental aspects of TE. If not, the TE position will be for run support and pass pro only. Again.

The punishment is way too severe. Why wouldn't first-time offenders get the benefit of the doubt, especially when there is no pattern of violations within the program? Feels very extreme. Had Clemson players been busted in the past, I could understand. It's pretty clear that this was not an intentional violation, though. NCAA can't get anything right, though, so I'm not surprised.

They will not be eligible next year barring a miracle. We could not find the source and without proof they will not be able to play

The NCAA, like the Heisman Committee, is only a shell of its former self.

So what info did they send to the NCAA on March 29 ?

The NCAA could do a lot of things to all allow the players to prove their innocence rather than proving where it came from and it was accidental. Sit them in a chair, hook up a lie detector and ask the question. If they don't take the test they sit out a year. If they fail the test, they sit out a year. If they pass, it goes away and they play.

The NCAA is a joke and a bad joke at that. It's ok to keep a kid from playing a year for something they know nothing about how it happened (guilty until proven innocent) and let kids completely off when they knew they were doing wrong by getting grades for not going to classes.
