Any potential DL move to OL?

Jan 17, 2020, 10:44 PM

Was thinking about Jordan Williams to RT? He is a monster and decent athlete. I was hoping he would grow into a dominate DT. Thought he was solid this year but maybe they should give him a look at RT. Thoughts?

We will not need him...we have 7 tons of offensive linemen waiting in the wings with a year of PT and knowledge and they'll just get better...look at whats coming in Mays, Parks, Tchio & Tucker and others...they may be able to contribute from the start...it does happen...look at Tyler Davis and just think how good he will be next year...ouch!

Even with the recruiting class, the Tigers need more DL depth than OL help.

DL is over the roster count in 2020, OL isn’t.

We are carrying like 9 or 10 scholly DTs alone in 2020. And I think only 15 OL which is either right at the number or 1 shy.

OL I’m counting 1 sr 3 jun 2 sophs 3 rs fr and 6 true fresh.

Based on our roster, I think we are good on OL even with the departures. Safety and ILB are my concerns. I'd like to see Davis Allen try to move from TE to ILB. He's a monster and played the position in highshcool.

ILB? Skalski returns and we have Venables, Kane Patterson, who had really good flashes and Sergio Allen coming in. I think Bentley played inside in high school too. I'm not concerned at ILB or Safety. Safety loses experience, but gains talent. We have big potential there with Charleston, Zanders, Mickens, and Thornton, joining Nolan for his senior year. The athleticism has upgraded.

If it happened, it wouldn't be Williams

It'd be one of the Younger guys, giving them time like Cerk to mature in the position. That's if

I doubt it. Although many of these guys played both ways, there is a reason that they ended up on the defensive side of the ball. It would be doubtful that it would be a plug and play situation, and if it is going to be a learning curve, we are likely better off with the ones that we recruited at OL.
