Am I the only one that hates Wake Forest with their entire being?

I hope we whoop that ### so bad that they quit Football and go home crying. Growing up in NC you can’t imagine how many people went to public school with me wearing their cardigan sweaters and a demon deacon broach smoking a cigar and saying “our average SAT scores are higher than yours.” Arrogant ########, I’m talking epic beat down with DJ being pulled halfway through the second quarter and Bryan Bresee throwing the last TD pass in the late 3rd.

And most people don't know this, but the school moved from Wake Forest, NC to Winston Salem, NC because the town of Wake Forest passed an ordinance that banned rich smug arrogant pastel-wearing chardonnay-drinking buttclowns from entering city limits, a law that is still on the books today. Well Wake wasn't about to change its admissions policies so they had to move.

There's only so much hate one can have left if you grew up in NC and went to Clemson like I did too. My hate was pretty much gone after dealing with UNC and pure as the wind driven snow Dean Smith and then dealing with the University of New York at Durham. Nah, Wake was just an afterthought and State was too similar a school to hate.

I like Wake. They always seem to over-achieve in football. Nice campus, good coach, and a great place to see a football game.

I was so ticked when we gave up that FG to ND in the playoff game. Wanted to file them under Ohio St beat downs/shut outs. There is no team I despise more than O310 state. But ND, Miami, and both USCs are in a log jam at 2nd. Can’t say the same about Wake but I get it. TU

I’m a Tar Heel and have never had hate for Wake. Actually kind of like them. I really don’t hate State even though I’m supposed to. Lol. But hate is not a strong enough word for dook!!!

I live in NC and certainly don't hate Wake. They seem harmless, and a lot of my Baptist brethren (and sisteran) are fans, so I'm cool with them. Over the years, I have kept most of my hate reserved for the Chickens, although I will get the occasional transient leak toward other schools like LSU, Mich, OSU, etc.

You couldn't have chosen a less threatening school, in terms of their students, alumni, or sports teams, than Wake Forest.
It's Wake. They are harmless. If they offend you somehow, you are way too easily offended.

as 2 of the best public schools in the country and I don't think very many people here, if any, would regard them as "hoity-toity, wine drinkers." On the private side, I don't know...Notre Dame presents an interesting test case. I don't see them as being "hoity-toity, wine drinkers" but some here might? I certainly wouldn't think of Brigham Young alumni as "hoity-toity, wine drinkers."
Is it possible you used an incorrect stereotype to describe the way you think people on tnet use incorrect stereotypes?

I like Wake at least in football and in general. I do not like their basketball successes.
I have never met a Wake grad who could hold a snbbish candle to almost every Duke grad I've ever met. And the yahoo wahoos who all think they should have gone to an Ivy are the most insufferable snobs on the planet who attended a public state university.
Well, except for the Michigan and Ohio State grads I have known. And some now very very old Tarheels who once thought Dean Smith was a gift from God and that the 'Carolina Way' meant something elite and positive.

And the feeling is caused not nearly as much by the schools themselves as by their delusional, downright disgusting, and unusually Moronic fanbases. Even Stevie Wonder or Ray Charles could see that I refer to the Cootlumbia Coots, and their SEC Least pecking buddies, the Georgia bastid Bullpups.

I have always kind of liked them, and my daughter loves them (although she loves Clemson more). Athletically, they are harmless enough, and I guess I have missed the arrogance bit because I have lived my whole life in SC (I know maybe a half dozen Wake grads/students).
Besides, 100% of my hatred is reserved for the University of Second Choice.

Yeah, my daughter went there and reminded me of that all the time ..... starting when she was 13 years old. But ..... she is a die hard Tiger football and all Tiger sports fan. I think she even pulled for the Tigers when they played Wake when she was a student.

the ACC in football. They had our back when they ACC punished us more than the NCAA. They have exponential more class than UNC, which isn't hard. I'll take Wake over Duke and UNC every time.

We were using players in that game that were not even on the roster and I'm not sure Jim Phillip's spotter could tell him who was playing. WF coach Al Groh said after the game that it was their job to stop us, not ours to stop ourselves. I was there.

I live in NC and I like Wake. We have been to quite a few games there and the fans are always very nice. One thing that I think is very classy is that their band always comes on the field before the game and plays their opponent's fight song. I have never had an issue with a fan in the stands. The parking is terrific, right across the street from the stadium. Now UNC and Duke fans are a different story. They think they are superior to everyone.
