liquor in carryon luggage.

Jan 6, 2016, 4:50 PM

so I think I read on here that you can carry on mini bottles of liquor, unopened of course, as part of your quart-sized bag of gels and liquids. Right?

But if I wanted to carryon a fifth of unopened bourbon, no way, right?

Do they not have liquor stores where you are flying?***

Jan 6, 2016, 5:01 PM [ in reply to Tennessee style?*** ]

but the fifth would just be to avoid a stop at a liquor store in Phoenix. The minis would be held in reserve for flight agonies, or late arrivals where I'd just like a lil sip upon finally arriving at the hotel, or if I never drank them, there's a possibility they'd go in the stadium.

but didn't crack it til last night. It's a nice little sipper. Will put some hair on your chest at 110 proof, so a splash of water might tame it a wee bit.

minis are great

Jan 6, 2016, 5:41 PM

The smile you get from the security guy when he sees the liquids is great.

Grab a fountain drink at airport restaurant and pour a stiff one. Walk around and sip it.

Repeat before boarding.

Refill incognito while in flight and just get a Coke from beverage service to top it off.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Liquor is too heavy. Take brownies instead...

Jan 6, 2016, 8:27 PM

Just don't let the pilots have one. Give the flight attendants two each.

And for god's sake, consume them all before landing in Arizona.

I know. I'm no help at all.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes 1/2 pints and bigger can be checked, For carry on

Jan 6, 2016, 8:41 PM

go to the store and buy some 3.5 oz travel bottles.
They usually come in 4 packs.

I put Jack in for afternoon or night flights and vodka
for morning.

I thought about this

Jan 7, 2016, 8:01 AM

but isn't it a violation of liquor laws to carry spirits in an unmarked container? Something about a tax stamp

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

A flask is an unmarked container

Jan 7, 2016, 11:14 AM

Been doing that for decades!
