This is the first time in a long time our defense has been bad. If this was a trend, you could blame Leggett. Obviously what we'd really like to get back to are 50 win seasons.

Our defense has been awful under Leggett for most years. That is coaching plain and simple.

make errors game after game and those errors cost runs.
it's like he is afraid to say we made a mistake on the personal and won't change.
when your SS throws as bad and makes as many errors as our ss does, you have to sit him for a week or so and give someone else a shot.
they recruit kids every year saying he a great this or that at a position, if they recruited them give them a chance to play when players continue to make bad throws or drop fly balls.
if Jleg won't change, this Clemson needs to change the HC

It's been worse than the national champs, but more the good enough to win. There is obviously some cause for concern with the defensive rankings having risen since '08.

Good enough to beat teams we out talent but not good teams. Also that does show awful rankings so yes it does show that we consistently play #### poor defense.
