2nd half adjustments

State is doing 2 things consistently

1) short passing game to the outside to neutralize our pass rush.

2) using motion to catch us looking in the backfield. If you haven't noticed yet, the vast majority of their play calls go towards the direction of the motion.

now how do we adjust to that?

1) Drop both DEs into coverage to take away the slant routes.

2) Blitz 2 LBs up the middle ot overload blitz the middle to force the ball outside.

3) No more 5 yard cushions from the secondary.

4) Keep Van smith over the top, but put muse where the 2 LBs are blitzing from.

They've thrown the entire playbook at us this first half. If they get another 2nd and 3 or so, you blitz the corner because I'll bet the house they'll play action to take a deep shot in that situation.


Long way to go gents, we'll be fine. Refocus, and keep playing.
