Do they factor in preferred walkons and kickers that never played football? Just curious. Since the kicker gets a scholarship he probably does factor in to some services.

Can't trust 247? Then why refer to them at all? Use another source.
One reason for the drop could be Fred Davis flaming out during practice during All-American week a few weeks ago. He didn't do well during the game itself either.

You’re right on Davis. He dropped a star and several spots nationally. On the flip side Trenton Simpson rose and picked up his 5th star. He was a beast in all-star game. Glad you posted about Davis as I wasn’t sure why he fell. Mickens and Sergio Allen both fell a few spots as well. Those 3 probably explain points drop.

So what if Fred Davis didn't have a good AA practice or game

247 is the one who rated him a star. Not Fred. Dude probably didn't get enough sleep the night before or something. Who knows? But I do know he's a D1 athlete that will have many snaps by the end of 2021

They are SEC nut huggers just like ESPN. The QB from Cali that committed to Bama jumped over 50 spots and is now ranked ahead of DJ. My question is this. I have no problem with the kid rising to the top. However, what did DJ do to be dropped to where he is? They want BAMA or the nut lickers to take the #1 class.

I for one don’t even look at ESecPNs rankings. 247 composite is probably the most accurate though they do factory in all 3. In the end it comes down to development in most cases.

I'll say it again: 247 and Rivals are legit. They are committed to CFB recruiting. They devote resources and have large numbers of people involved. You can actually see the names of their contributors, who write articles, are based in all regions of the country, sometimes specialize in conferences or specific programs and have varying takes on players.
On the other hand, it's easy to tell ESPN isn't knee-deep into it like the other two. They rarely have fresh material, unlike the others who have new stuff every day. ESPN CFB recruiting is anonymous and just hides behind the ESPN name. This is probably because only 1 or 2 guys are doing the whole thing. They are a joke.
247 and Rivals are great at what they do because it matters to them and pays the bills. ESPN recruiting has no reason to exist, which is why they should stop the sham and pull the plug.

In all the cutbacks, their recruiting guys are now broadcasting games and appearing on shows across the SEC,ACC and ESPN networks. When do they really have time to evaluate ?

Luginbill has a really good football mind and I really enjoy him at games, im not sure yet about his recruiting chops but nothing seems outlandish. Also he and Blackledge have been very complimentary to us over the years. Haubert I have not really gotten a great vibe from either way, but he seems like he is a Pac12 lover.

Bryce Young has a serious argument at #1. He’s smaller yes but he’s a sensational talent with amazing accuracy and proven results in a top HS FB league. Dude also balled all week at the all American practices and games. He’s going to be a star in college.

Thank you! I love this guy as a player and he really seems well grounded and humble with a good head on his shoulders.
When 247 does their final, they already said DJ, Bryce Young and Bresee are the top 3. We'll find out the order very soon.
Rivals has Bresee, Young and DJ as 1-2-3.
The issue with DJ lies solely with ESPN, who stupidly has his final ranking at #43.
Don't blame 247 or Rivals about DJ. Pin the tail on ESPN.

It's a formula. It changed because players rankings in the composite changed. Because rivals readjusted their numbers. 247 is using the same formula they used that put us at 312.
