2012 Scout Report of top GA running backs- Alvin Kamara

Jan 24, 2014, 5:31 PM

Interesting PRE HIGH SCHOOL SEASON Scout 2012 recruiting report comparing Kamara, Jones (Alabama), and Dye (Clemson). I thought it would help some of you out there that keep posting that Kamara is the next Gurley. I am not saying that he can't but that may not be the best use of his skills.

I like the commentary on his big playmaking ability, which is probably the reason we would be looking his way with so many backs in the mix.

Gurley and Dye would be a better comparison***

Hopefully we will have a 100% Dye back in the RB mix

soon enough so we can see what he's got.

I hope Dye can show some power, but comparison to 235lb

Todd Gurley is a little premature.

It's guaranteed that Dye has bulked up and is probably close to the size of Gurley by this point. Gurley's strength is running up the middle and breaking tackles, Dye's strengths are also running up the middle and breaking tackles so therefore a comparison of a healthy Dye to Gurley is spot on. Both are tough inside runners. Dye is much more comparable to Gurley than Kamara as so many T-netters have been spewing since the news broke that he may be transferring in from Bama.

The fact that his hand skills and outside running ability are two of his strengths makes him appear that he would be perfect to use on swing passes and wheel routes coming out of the back field much like we used CJ. Many don't remember CJ's biggest plays were actually catches or sweeps not runs between the tackles. Great find on the article.
