How many of you old timers remember

Aug 26, 2018, 11:16 AM

Sitting pretty much anywhere you wanted because the stadium was so empty?

Remember us going for two after every touchdown because we didn't have a kicker that could kick an extra point kick?

Parking beside the Esso for $10?

Someone just handing you tickets and saying 'enjoy' as you stood outside the stadium with your fingers up?

Waiting around on a Sunday morning for Rev Dodd to post a bit of wisdom after some ridiculous loss?

And now we sit around back and forthn' about which QB can put us in a position to beat Alabama before we've even played a down. Great times my Tiger Brethren. Great Times.....Enjoy!

1975 season was my senior year

I sat on the 50 yd line every game, usually about half way up in north stands and with plenty of seats available. Maybe going 2-9 had something to do with it.

I recall those years! Tickets were $5 for lower

Bowl seats in the stadium right before game time unless we were facing FSU or the coots.

Yep. That is why the "Undefeated Home Season" in 1974 was a big enough deal to warrant a special Pepsi bottle, even though we went 1-4 on the road that year.

I remember we even had a Model A Ford race, on the field, between ours and the Ramblin' Wreck from GT one year. Anything to drum up interest.

Just a bit different now!

I remember a dogfight with Duke in 1976 that ended in a tie

Aug 26, 2018, 1:57 PM

when the Duke kicker nailed a 60 yard FG that hit
the crossbar and bounced in on the last play of the
game. Nobody rushed the field, just walked out in
eerie stunned silence after the game. Pre upper deck
days, was my first game in an actual seat after being
a hill spectator the previous 3 seasons.

I remember in the 70s taking our 3 kids and buying tickets at the stadium, I think they were a High School student tickets, about $3 each. We had two season tickets but the whole family sat on the hill. Sometimes we found 5 seats together in the end zone. Also

Remember paying .50 and sitting in the end zone when I was in HS.
