Rumor is that this year is Venables last chance. Should he get fired this year do you think that we will try to bring him in as a assistant to Tom Allen? I don't think BV would go for that but maybe Dabo could convince him. I am very happy with Tom Allen and I don't want BV to replace him I am just wondering what Venables next move would be if he is fired.

It'd be fun to have tickets and sit behind these two during a game.

DC somewhere else. Been too good to just be an assistant. We just have to appreciate all that he did and move on. But yes would love it if he did come back.

Venables would never agree to that and Allen probably wouldn't either. Brent was the DC at Oklahoma years ago and a Co-DC was brought in. Brent said "Nope" and left for Clemson. He will never go down that road again, you can bet on it.

Stoops brought in his brother for Co-DC. IF and I don't think it happens, they do bring BV back there's a lengthy discussion before hand on who is what. I don't think BV would do to Tom Allen what was done to him. Stoops nepotism was the second best thing to ever happen to Clemson.

No way to know at this point as we do not know which path he would choose. With his wife’s medical issues, he may want some time off. If he wants to be a DC again, there would be no shortage of jobs. Does he want to move east or is Oklahoma home?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't see that happening. I think that he'll either take another DC job or

Why on earth would Venables or Allen agree to that?

You do remember that OU tried to bring in a co-dc and that's why we ended up with him as our DC, right?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

My guess is he'll go to some top tier team and be their DC. Probably a Bama or

If he wanted to coach again I bet he would be a HC elsewhere or a DC at a great school. Just guessing of course.

Considering his wife's health issues, my recommendation would be for him to take some much-needed time off.

Looking at their schedule I’m only seeing about 5-6 wins.

With what his wife’s been through, I’d take a couple years off enjoying her and the money and let college football be the last thing on my mind.

But guys like BV are wired different than me so not sure if he could do that

I’m sure CVs buy out is lucrative that he wouldn’t have to work again if he so desires.

Maybe you should withhold judgement until Coach Allen has a least one season at Clemson.
