I've been following Clemson softball since it's inaugural season in the aborted 2020 campaign. In looking at this team vs previous teams, I see one major difference (in my opinion) - this team does not have any one or two superstars.
Looking back at this season, this has been a complete team effort, up and down the line. We have hitters from the lead-off to the 9 spot, and every single one of them has contributed big-time to our wins and ultimately to winning the ACC for the first time. I love the previous teams, but it seems like either the coach and/or the team leaned too much on the superstar power. Clemson Softball was often looked at as one person, or maybe two, but no team should ever be made about one player. It wasn't their fault. It was us fans, the media, and maybe - dunno - the coaches? But this year? It's been the Team, plain and simple.
This 2025 Clemson Softball team has evolved over the season. The lineup has morphed a bit here and there. Rittman has made a lot of adjustments and found what worked and what doesn't. Brooke, for example, has become our ace closer and has found her spot there. Pipkins has become a great outfielder and hitter. Same with Johnson. And when Johnson was struggling, Minish plugged the gap. The infield has played solid, with the addition of Collins at short and Brown has really come into her own at 3rd and at the plate.
This team believes in themselves and they're not dependent upon one or two players to make the big plays. Each athlete knows they can be that player to win the game. And almost every one has.
What an exciting season it has been and I'm excited to see more!

Great year. As you state, the hitting as a team is the best over any year while the pitching is not near as deep as the past. If we get a 3 deep pitching staff like FSU or Tenn; lookout.
We have a good chance to make the WS this year.

games. I told my wife & daughters that I love Teams 1-5, but that this 2025 team is special. This team plays hard, has fun, and doesn't know the word quit. They have come a long way since the early Florida tournaments.
