Friday went out with son of and wife of to dinner.
Sat AM got up and drove to Hotlanta. Traffic going in reminded me of how lucky I am to not live there. Got to hotel in time to see second half of bees stinging indians at some places in the Battery. PBR bar was kinda fun, scenery was interesting (those of you who've been there know). Watched Barves beat Nats, felt how old I was and went back to hotel after a post game beer.
Sunday missed most of traffic, dropped in on mom, got home, cranked up new generator to test (since IPTAY booted me from my previous spot with electric outlet close by). Did some to do stuff.
Needed to take kiddo to a soccer thing Sat night up in Dunwoody, just OTP on the north side. We live down by the zoo.
Google sez:
* Traffic straight up the I-75/I-85 downtown sphincter takes 32 minutes * Traffic east on I-20, then up I-285N takes 35 minutes * Traffic west on I-20, then up I-285N takes 36 minutes
Picked I-20E because no sphincter, and no Battery traffic. Longer drive but not much actual traffic, other than dodging the 2 Fast 2 Furious stunt team on the way home.
All that said, Barves could have helped fans a tad by wiring the new stadium with some form of public transit. Getting people into/out of ATL UTD matches on MARTA is usually pretty painless, with similar crowd sizes and in a much more dense part of the city.
