but stats only tell part of the story. No one is trading Cade with either--both who have better arms, better surrounding casts, etc......
With that said, I have always maintained we should've played Cade a bit more earlier. He needed as many game reps as possible.

No one said you did. But you post suggests one should pick Cade over TL and DW. I just said stats don't tell the whole story. Good info tho....

The hate Cade received is because he wasn’t a plug and play qb like Deshaun and Trevor. It took some time to put it all together. He was downright bad last year, he’s rewriting his reputation this year though.

This is correct. I bashed him all off-season and week 1 leading into app state. Thought because he was so so bad last year he had no chance to improve. He has improved in every aspect but the biggest is the mental side. The game is slower for him and now he is making the right reads

Cade is learning to be a good QB. These stats are a stretch just to advance an agenda. Apples to orange comparison.

Nobody is hating on cade becuase of our recent results. People hated on cade because he was a below average qb last year and had a very poor game against Georgia.
Cade has been great since georgia and has really proven he has made some significant leaps this year.
I would like to see him against a good defense. He still seems late many throws.

I actually think Cade has better weapons around him rn than Deshaun did in 2015.
Cade's 2024 team has: Mafah, Briningstool, Wesco, Moore... Brown belongs on this list but he hasn't done anything this year which is super sad!
Deshaun's 2015 team had Gallman, Tay Scott, Cain, Peake, Leggett, Renfrow
Trevor's 2019 team had talent: ETN, Higgins, Ross, Rodgers

The guys Watson had in 15 weren't freshmen either. I'd take Leggette over Brinny. Cain and Artavis were real good players too.
I'm not saying Cade is better than Watson but Cades story is not over at Clemson yet and he can finish as a top 3-4 QB for the Tigers.

I don't think it's fair to hate on Cade but DW and TL tended to come up big when on the biggest stage, in playoff and championship games. When/if Cade does this then he'll truly have reached their level both on the field and in the minds of fans. And I can't wait to see it.

So true... well, I'd say for DW4. When he was out there until time expired I believed.
Less so with Trevor - even less so with Cade.

All this points to is that football is a team sport.
Good qb's with great supporting casts look like historically great qb's
Great qb's with lousy support look like, well, not great or average qb's
Bad qb's show up when the rest of the team is great and they still suck.
It's like my grandmother used to say, "You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" Cade is definitely not a sow's ear. He is looking more and more like genuine silk all the time.
