Speaking of the Copa. Thoughts from Arg vs. Can:

1) I wish Jesse was the USMNT coach. Despite Arg’s dominance Can were unlucky not to have scored at least one goal. Very organized. Especially up top in the rare cases when they had the ball.

2) Messi gets all the love but Di Maria is Apm’s dawg.

3) speaking of Messi, surprised they kept him in the whole time.

* Canada looked legit. If they could've gotten some of those early shots on frame, it may have been a different match altogether.

* Argentina's fanbase is electric. It felt like a home crowd, for sure.

* Both goalkeepers were strong, and fun to watch. Argentina's defense in-general was fun to watch, and just seemed like they were on another level.

* Spent way too much on tickets, but taking the kiddo to see Messi play for his world-cup winning national team feels like it should be expensive. Presale worked out great, and despite the fact that we were in the 300's, we had a great view of the pitch.

* Speaking of the pitch, all of the ESPN + AP coverage this morning is talking about the poor field conditions. We were at the SheBelieves Cup, and conditions were visibly better from the stands. Not sure what Benz staff did wrong, but it's embarrassing that the WC surface in Qatar's desert came from Georgia and looked great, but at home we couldn't figure it out and now it's a national story.

* My prediction is that the USMNT will underwhelm again. I don't blame Berhalter really, but US soccer culture (and MLS, in particular) need some serious structural changes.

Gotta figure it out before the WC.

Did the refs seem bias at all to you?

Watched it last night and there were at least 2-3 no calls that went against the Canucks in the second half alone, while similar calls were whistled for Arg on the other end.

If anything I was cheering for Arg during the match, and that discrepancy still seemed noticeable to me.

Also, Arg was relying on the longball big-time. Canada would press, and then Arg would counter by firing the ball over the defense's heads and hoping it would turn into something productive. ... That said, Arg's second goal was masterful with how they worked the ball up the field. Messi's pass to hit that final run in the middle for the goal was beautiful.

Sure. Canada had a possible penalty not called.

And in general ARG got more benefit of a doubt, but they are the World Champs and they do have the GOAT on their team. Like Jordan's Bulls.

I for one am glad you are stopping. You are one of the most ignorant posters ever. You obviously think very highly of your own opinion, unlike the rest of us - RockHillTiger
