Just a PSA note about Brownell before basketball season starts

The Brownell hot seat talk or talk of moving on…. That’s all over for now. He had tye best season in our history since 1980. I was leaning to move on from him last year until he delivered the elite 8 run.
So even if we have a down year, the hot seat talk is all over. It would take 2-3 bad years now for that to start up again

I think two mediocre years in row meaning no NIT or around .500 starting this year would start talk again, but saying that don't see that happening.
Recruiting better,and NIL ability in portal will prevent that from happening.

Sure. A blind squirrel finds a nut and you’re ready to extend him?! No thanks. Based on his history, it will be another decade before he achieves last seasons success. We lost the majority of our production and you’re ready to crown him basketball Dabo.
Stick to watching paint dry. Golf, tennis, and obscure sports quarterly seem to be your wheelhouse. Stay there!
In all seriousness, BrownL earned this season only. I pray I’m wrong and he’s finally learned how to win. In a perfect world Clemson competes for every National championship. Even tiddlywinks

Brad Brownell. It could always be classified in the "Blind Squirrel Finds an Acorn" category.
The ACC as a whole has moved down to Brad's level, not us moving up. And yet, we still have never, ever won the ACC Tournament. Now, if Brownlee does THAT, I would say that buys him some extended grace.

Actually it would take about 13-14 years of trash basketball to start it again. Apparently that is our standard. But no more than 15 years or he's outta here.

He definitely bought more time with the extension. If we fired him within the first 2 years of the new contract we would owe him $10M. After that, he would get 37.5% of whatever the balance is on the remaining contract.
