I live in a low crime area so there's not many Democrats around. The few I know said they couldn't vote for Harris.

Crime Is Nonpartisan. Cities and states run by Republicans do not actually have less crime. Party rule does not drive crime.
Consider DeSantis’s state, Florida. Its homicide rate was roughly 50 percent higher than New York’s in 2021. Florida’s two most populous cities, Jacksonville and Miami, each had a homicide rate more than double New York City’s last year, even though both had Republican mayors.

another DEI appointee. The turning of Trumps head really screwed up the plan.
It really is amazing a woman who essentially finished last in every state in the primaries, has always had to be appointed, is potentially now selected by a select few to possibly be the candidate. I could actually understand if Bernie was selected, he actually did pretty well in the primaries. For instance, if Trump was killed last week and they totally tell their voters we will choose your candidate and it’s going to be Haley, I’m officially out. Not voting liberal, but I’m out. I get what we’re dealing with in the type of people we’re dealing with in liberals, but even they had to of known years ago biden is not mentally or physically able to run the country. They knew in the primaries he was done, yet told their voters F U , we’ll choose for you.
Actually shocked Mayor Pete wasn’t selected. He seems to resemble best what their voting base has become. And the folks thinking they won’t go DEI with the V.P. pick, then you haven’t been paying attention to what they’re fascinated with right now.
The next 4 or 5 months will be fascinating. I do not believe they are done. Maybe panicking a little and frustrated that step 1 , 2 , and 3 haven’t been successful yet in relation to Trump, but they will absolutely do anything u can imagine to not lose power

Kind of interesting that most of the reasons that you think Harris (and I think those reasons make good sense in regards to Harris) should not be appointed do not apply at all to Nikki Haley but you would not vote for her either. Nikki was the second highest vote getter to Trump in most primaries prior to her suspending her campaign. She was elected governor of SC. She would make total sense if something had happened to Trump.

what Harris's job was with the border, let's all do so accurately. Yes, I typed quickly and misused a word. My bad.
What's your excuse? Harris only got the moniker of 'czar' or was said to 'be in charge of the border' by the right, and the media once it picked up it was easy to say. What was her defined duty with it? To figure out the root cause of immigration from Central America and be the leader of those diplomatic efforts. You may be right on her timing of when she went to the border, but she was never in charge of the border. And even within those defined terms that came out of the executive order by Biden, no one knows what power she was actually given.
That said, yes should was in the administration as VP so she should get all the bad and good that has come with the problems at the border, that is totally fair. Also, there was a bi-partisan effort in the Senate that would have been great for re-writing asylum rules, which would have been for the greater for the long term, that was ultimately abandoned by the GOP. Also, once that happened - and yes likely too late - the administration did some aspects by executive order that has led to a plummeting of crossings in the last 4-5 months, and currently it's on the slowest pace since Trump was in office.

The long term reality is congress is the one that needs to come up with the long term solution by re-writing the asylum laws, and enacting them, so long term problems can ben fixed to get back to a normal track. There is a good blueprint based on what the Senate came up with - in a bi-partisan way - 6-7 months ago. Congress needs to get serious and get back on track to coming up with a solution that is long-lasting.

The GOP has never said that any person of color or a female that is hired is a DEI hire. Conservatives have said that Kamala Harris was nothing more than a DEI hire.
Considering the fact that Biden said, prior to picking his VP, that he was going to pick a black female for VP and her awful 2020 campaign, it can easily be assumed she was chosen because she was half black and a woman.
