Boycott WYFF

Just watched the morning news for the first time in a very long time and saw what others have said. Zero coverage of Dabo’s season preview yesterday but they led off with Georgia and their QB. Not one mention of Clemson. Compare their sports page with WSPA and it’s obvious they are intentionally ignoring Clemson. F WYFF and watch WSPA instead.

I always get a kick out of this type media bias in SC and how it doesn't to jack to move the needle for coot football.

Been many years since I lived in Greenville but had thought at one time WYFF was pro Clemson? I remember dad normally watching WSPA and was it Stan Olenik sp(??) in those days. Hate to hear this from a station less than an hour away from campus. Makes no sense but these news programs now do not hide their bias and seem to deliberately alienate half of the would be watchers.

They go with what’s hot. They covered Clemson well during our championship run. Now the dogs are hot. It’s all about ratings with any media outlet. If we want to change this we need to get hot again and no better way to start than to beat GA Aug 31.

Clemson is virtually next door to Greenville and there are more Clemson grads in Greenville County than anywhere else in the world. They should be covering us extensively even if Bowden was still the coach and we were staring down the barrel of a 7-5 mediocrity for 2024.

This was once the TV station of Jim Phillips. They’ve gone off the rails and not just with regards to sports coverage.

Stan Olenik was the best. He actually followed anchor Annette Estes from WSPA and they both worked at Channel 4 in the late 80's-early 90's. Remember this coverage when Danny Ford was let go. If I remember correctly he cornered AD Bobby Robinson trying to get answers. Clemson people loved it.

Clemson has a partnership with WSPA. That's why they carry the coaches shows for football and basketball. Also, Pete Yanity does ESPN+ broadcasts of baseball and softball.

So you think we should boycott WYFF because they did not give 30 seconds of airtime reporting things you already knew from t-net news and actual videos?

You’re beyond bizarre, man. WYFF is always reporting about and from Clemson. But thanks for taking an isolated instance and blowing it up.

Well it is the local news so maybe more old people like Jawja than Clemson

'Cause you have to be at least in your mid 60s to watch local news right? My dad watches it after America's got talent.

We watch the local news in the morning to see the traffic and weather and the recap of local news. I can’t tell you when the last time I watched an evening news show was.

Cancel Culture has now reached the point we stop watching a tv channel because they don't dedicate all of their sports topic to our favorite college.

Weak.

Nope. Our Jane Robelot works at WYFF. No bigger ambassador of Clemson than Jane. Evening anchor Nigel Robinson seems like he is big on the paw too. The morning news doesn't do that much sports anyway. The morning news is just a rehash of yesterday's news and a little bit of overnight breaking news sprinkled in.

Boycotting a local news station because they didn’t feature Clemson (and report on a, let’s be honest, pretty meaningless media event), is such a new low for this website
