He dropped that ball pretty close to the goal line.
Run through the finish line.

I don't give a crap if they hand the ball to the official or

not, but i still think dropping the ball at the goal line is one of the dumbest thing in all of sports and you see it multiple times every year.
I thin AJ was about 5 yards deep in the EZ when he let go though so it wasn't as close as some.

He was well across when he let go of the ball. That said, I too, like to see the players hand the ball to the official.

he did not drop the ball anywhere near the goal line, he went to one hand crossing the goal line and dropped it about 5 yards deep... "been there - done that" give the ball to the ref (Renfrow)... I didn't look was there a ref in the back of the end zone I doubt it... this was a huge play. He did just fine.

I figure this would be top 3

With the other National Championship and 2012 LSU. I know there's a recency bias, but the pure domination of what people thought would end up as one of the best teams ever puts it in my top 3.

Wow! A national championship beatdown of the mighty crimson tide and it only rates number 6?? No way I can think of 5 games in the Dabo era that were better than this.

My guesses (no order)

LSU for sure will be top five
2016 Natty
2008 South Carolina game (got him hired, turns out to be one of the biggest wins in Clemson history)
2016 Louisville
31-0
Possible that the South Carolina game that broke the streak in 2014 replaces UL.

Totally agree! Not just the win, but the beat down . Stats may, or may not, tell the real story, but what did tell it was the desperation in their play calling and the utter disgust on their faces, fans, players, coaches; even Nick Saban knew it was over, and he and their players just wanted to go home. I tell y’all, it was a beautiful thing!

not knocking your list for a second. but I couldn't help but laugh at myself for having forgotten the bowl win over ND. truly that should be considered a significant win for many valid reasons, but your list saw me face the reality that I had relegated ND to a very secondary status.

Putting the National Championship over Alabama, humbling Alabama, 15-0, best team ever at number 6 is plain silly IMHO. It's rightful place is at number two as many others have pointed out.

this game had a bigger meaning after the fact as far as the 'passing of the torch' or at least having Clemson on par with Bama. Plus, finishing out 15-0? I'm surprised this is #6.

This is not only the best win under Dabo, but it is the best win in our program's history.
Our three national titles should be #s 1, 2, and 3. We can obviously argue between 1981, 2016, and 2018 in terms of quality of wins, importance, etc., but a 44-16 beatdown over an Alabama team touted as unbeatable all year and one of the best teams ever makes this our best win ever. This win also cemented us as an elite program, at least on par with Alabama.
Oh, and we are the first 15-0 team in the modern era. That counts for a lot as well.

Agree, this has to be top 3. Might be too simple to consider

the three national championship wins as top three in some order, but some things don't need to be hard. I don't know what 4 through 10 would be, but when you line up and win a game for all the marbles, that ranks at the top.

Well, it is the top 10 Dabo wins, but you're right, maybe they are trying to not just have the NC games at the top. However, to have 5 games ahead of this one, it feels like they ranked it 6 to just get people talking.

still, the win over Bama in Tampa and the win in Santa Clara have to be 1 and 2 in some order.

Not sure that this doesn't move up 10 years doing a top 20 for Dabo's 20 year anniversary. With the way we won, combined with the validation of Dabo's program that a second championship, combined with the effect on recruiting especially on a national scale, I think it very well may fall at number 1 as it's significance grows.

Although I watch some part of the 2018 NC game almost every other day - there are SO MANY highlights - to me the 2016 NC, after 35 years, beating (then) Alabama's best team ever, with a two minute TD drive by the great DW4 to win the game, still ranks numero uno. But the 2018 NC is a clear number two 9well ahead of numbers 3, 4 , 5 etc.) and may even get to number one after some years.

We won this game when we lost the Sugar Bowl game to Alabama last year. The guys didn’t come back to Clemson for nothing...they had unfinished business to do. All the other games were just warm up games for this team. We were as prepared and focused as any football team that Clemson has ever put on the field that I have seen us play. The final drive tells it all!
