For a conference championship can actually be a good thing for certain conferences because it avoids having another loss or injury before the selections are made. Shouldn't being in the conference championship and possibly losing be better than not making it to the championship at all. Personally imo if we no longer have divisions then the 2 teams that make the their conference championship should not be dinged if they lose. SMU getting a raw deal with the rankings. I believe they could go toe to toe with a majority of the teams in front of them if played on a neutral field but will probably get left out if they don't win the ACC.

Had we played a scrub team instead of UGA this would probably be the situation for us.

11-1 but missing the ACCCG would probably put us at 6th or 7th with a homefield play in game.

years ago in little league there was a scrub team for those who didnt make the other teams. And that is what is was called "The Scrub Team". Can you imagine doing that in this snow flake era today? I laugh when I think about it
