Dexter Lawrence or Rashan Gary

I would imagine both of these kids are taking a huge look at Clemson. So I wondered, which one is better? I know Gary's name has been brought up numerous times, but after viewing footage from both players. I'm not sure that Lawrence isn't the better player here. While both are listed at DT/DL, IMO... Lawrence might be a little more college ready at this point. Gary seems like he has been playing a lot more DE, out on the edge and playing against smaller players. And even though Dexter is bigger, I believe he maybe just as quick as Gary, if not quicker. Dexter can power through 2 blockers, or man handle one at just about any moment. I also like his ability to quickly shoot the gap and find the ball with regularity. While Gary seems to be a little more read and re-act. Now, with that said... Sure I would take either, right. Can't go wrong with either, but at this point... looks like Clemson has a lot of work to do with both. (recruiting)

Lawrence all day he is a true NT or 2 gap. Gary is very much like Wilkins will play the same postion. Both are very talented but there is more a need for Lawrence's postion.

Gary very unlikely for us

And Lawrence may have more upside at the college level like you say. Nothing in Gary's household from Mom to him points to us. So my sights are set on Lawrence.

Gary didn't even mention us when he was asked to update his recruiting at the Opening this week. I think we have a much better shot at Lawrence but it seems as if we are having a very hard time getting him on campus for some reason. Thought there was a chance he would come to the All-In Cookout but last I read he was going to Alabama on a visit with his younger brother on that day.

Isn't he still planning a summer visit?

I thought I read an interview a few months ago where he said good things about Clemson and said he was definitely planning a summer trip. Hopefully more than Caldwell is working him. Having BV in his ear would help.

Probably Hobbie and Brooks recruiting him instead of the o-line coach

Big on us after visit, then didn't mention us, then towards the end listed us with others then landed here.

Gary could play any position on the D-line. I see him fitting best in a hybrid role like that of Grady Jarrett - filling holes and using his athleticism to both get after the qb and make plays behind the like of scrimmage.

Nobody knows what today's teenagers are thinking , maybe even more so than at any other time in the history of teenagers. Gary is a longshot , but then again so was Christian Wilkins. Nobody here really thought Wilkins was a Tiger . Lawrence is a better NT imo , but both are elite . Go Tigers.

At least Wilkins dropped a lot of hints

Gary seems very quiet about us while he and others in his family talk up other schools like Michigan. And I thought I saw where his mom actively visits schools without him. No CU visits, though.

Gary's mom and uncle came with him to Clem in April

I don't think were getting him, but some of the info in your last post was just incorrect. He's been to Clem more recently than Michigan.

You got me on his mom visiting with him. I didn't know that, and my statement was about her not him. Still say everyone should focus on other and not Gary. He'll end up at Mich or OSU or maybe Bama.

He could play any position but I bet he doesn't wanna play NT. He is 3 tech or a SDE.

Gary remind me on how Wilkins was when we was recruiting him. All recruiting sites had him going to Penn st and at the end it was Clemson. If Gary enjoyed the visit at Clemson and didn't mention Clemson at the opening then Clemson may be the school he choose. I think he's gonna do the same thing Wilkins did and surprise everyone and come to Clemson. That would definitely be great. Go Tigers

Gary seems to be a Michigan lean from all the intel I have read. He liked his visit to Clemson and he would be a huge asset in the middle of BV's defense so let's see what happens.
Lawrence appears to be made in the Clemson mold. Quiet demeanor with an intense motor and a solid student athlete. Reminds me of some past Perry boys that played in the NFL.
We have over six months to secure another top recruiting class that could take Clemson to the goal of ACC Championships and make the four team playoff for the Nat'l Championship. With our coaches, facilities and academic programs, I feel certain that the Tigers will fill in the pieces of the puzzle to put great athletes on the field, in the classroom and build character for a prosperous future for these recruits.

You can bet your bottom dollar that the Coaches are doing everything they can to land either or both. Clemson is special, every commit says so. That is our calling card.

either player would be a great pick up.
With that said, I am still hoping we're focusing on the OL as well.

now i am NOT a recruiting guru, but in my opinion, now that gary is getting out & around i think he is really getting drawn to the SEC schools. if we get him back on campus of course we'll have a shot w/ dabo working on his mama... but i think he's becoming a longshot.
lawrence on the other hand- i dont think we're leading but i think we could make a heck of a case for him. he doesnt wanna go to far, the instate NC schools stink, & the way he talks about family/caring/education... to me he seems more of a clemson guy than gary. i think another time on campus & we're for sure in dexter's top 3 w/ a shot to land him assuming we have a good season, good defense, & get an official visit. if we get this guy- gary is an absolute stud & i wish him the best, but i wont miss him if we get dex.
just my opinions..
