Former Clemson DB re-signed by Cardinals

by - Assoc. Editor -

Former Clemson defensive back (6-1, 215) Chris Clemons has signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals on Tuesday according to team officials.

Clemons has signed a contract with the Cardinals during the last three seasons (2014, 2015, 2016). He played in five games in 2015 before hurting his groin and being put on injured reserve by the Cardinals. However, he battled back from the injury and ended up playing in two playoff games for his team.

He had a previous stint with the Texans (2014) and also several productive years with the Dolphins (2009-2013).

In 72 career NFL games, Clemons has 283 tackles, four interceptions, 17 pass deflections, 1.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

The Dolphins drafted Clemons in the fifth round (165th overall) in the 2009 NFL Draft.
