SENECA – Former Clemson defensive end Ebenezer OgundekoEbenezer Ogundeko Ogundeko was arrested last Friday after an investigation into an alleged mob assault at an off-campus party. Ogundeko was also arrested May 19 by the Clemson Police Department and charged with financial transaction card fraud, an arrest that led to Ogundeko’s dismissal from the Clemson football team. Friday’s arrest stemmed from an incident that took place March 27 at The Pier at Clemson apartments, and he was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Friday morning and released later that day on a personal recognizance bond of $1,092.50. The (Seneca) Journal reported Ogundeko's arrest in its Tuesday edition. The warrant stated the following, with Ogundeko being named as SUSPECT1. He was officially charged with Assault and Battery, 3rd Degree. ON 03-28-2015 I SPOKE WITH COMPLAINANT/VICTIM ROBINSON AT THE OFFICE OF "THE PIER" ON EDINBURGH WAY IN OCONEE COUNTY IN REFERENCE TO AN ASSAULT/LYNCHING COMPLAINT. ROBINSON STATED THAT HE ATTENDED A PARTY THE PREVIOUS NIGHT (03-27-2015) AT THE RECREATION BUILDING. ACCORDING TO ROBINSON, WHILE HE WAS AT THE PARTY HE WAS STANDING ALONE AND WAS "MINDING HIS OWN BUSINESS" WHEN SUSPECT1 PASSED BY HIM AND STATED "IT LOOKS LIKE HE HAS A PROBLEM" INDICATING TO ROBINSON. ROBINSON TOLD SUSPECT1 THAT HE DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM NOR DID HE WANT ANY TROUBLE AND RETREATED TO ANOTHER ROOM. ROBINSON STATED THAT HE LATER CONFRONTED SUSPECT1 AND WANTED TO CLEAR UP ANY MISUNDERSTANDING BUT IT APPEARED TO ONLY MAKE HIM MAD. ROBINSON THEN WALKED TO ANOTHER ROOM WHERE HE WAS FOLLOWED BY SUSPECT1 AND ABOUT FIVE OF HIS FRIENDS. ROBINSON TURNED TO WALK AWAY AGAIN. WHEN ROBINSON TURNED TO FLEE, SUSPECT1 STRUCK HIM AT THE BACK OF HIS HEAD AND KNOCKED HIM TO THE GROUND. ROBINSON STATED THAT HE WAS KICKED REPEATEDLY BY SUSPECT1 AND SEVERAL OF THE OTHERS WITH HIM WHILE HE WAS LYING ON THE GROUND. ROBINSON TOLD ME THAT HE WAS UNABLE TO GET UP AND THE MAJORITY OF THE BLOWS STRUCK HIM ABOUT HIS HEAD. ROBINSON STATED THAT THE SUSPECTS WERE "STOMPING HIM." ROBINSON RECEIVED A CHIPPED TOOTH, BUSTED LIP, SEVERAL ABRASIONS/CONTUSIONS AROUND HIS FACE/HEAD, AN INJURY TO HIS NOSE, PETECHIA ON HIS LEFT EYEBALL, ABRASIONS ON BOTH ARMS, BRUISED FINGERS/HANDS, AND ABRASIONS ON BOTH HANDS AS A RESULT OF THE ASSAULT. ROBINSON'S FRIEND CAME TO ROBINSON'S AIDE AND HELPED BREAK UP THE ASSAULT. ROBINSON WAS LATER TAKEN TO "CARECONNECT" AT 885 TIGER BLVD IN CLEMSON TO BE TREATED FOR HIS INJURIES. ROBINSON GAVE ME A COPY OF THE CLINICAL SUMMARY FROM "CARECONNECT" IT IS ATTACHED TO THIS REPORT. PICTURES WERE TAKEN OF ROBINSON'S INJURIES AND ARE ATTACHED TO THIS REPORT. ROBINSON COMPLETED A WRITTEN STATEMENT REGARDING THE INCIDENT; IT IS ALSO ATTACHED TO THIS REPORT. CASE UNDER FURTHER INVESTIGATION. Ogundeko is a native of Brooklyn, NY, and he had five tackles in 16 snaps over seven games as a reserve in 2014. He played just three snaps against No. 24 Oklahoma in the Russell Athletic Bowl on Dec. 29.
