Spiller back on ESPN's list

Dec 1, 2009, 2:57 PM

Good luck, Clemson fans. Suh is going to be nearly impossible to catch. He's getting votes at about a 10:1 ratio to CJ right now.

It's not like it matters

Dec 1, 2009, 2:58 PM

Suh won't even get invited. Spiller at least has a chance to do that.

Y'all are pushing a lost cause. You could argue that Suh isn't even the best DT on his own team, let alone the nation.

You could try that argument, but anyone who's watched our games knows that Suh is far superior to Crick.

And you're right - Suh probably won't be invited. It's a shame, because he deserves to be at the club. Suh has definitely earned that.

Husker fans know Suh won't win, and most likely won't be invited to New York. That doesn't stop us from pimping him. He's our guy. We love him, and our team.

As a side note - most Husker fans you'll talk to will agree that if Suh can't go to New York, they'd be happy to see Spiller get an invite. He's a baller, and we appreciate him.

You seem like a good fella.

Dec 1, 2009, 4:10 PM

Good luck to the Huskers and Suh. I don't blame you one bit for voicing the sentiment you have for Suh. ESPN put Suh on that ballot and by golly I think it is great that Husker fans are using it to show their support for Suh and Nebraska. I just wish we had as many fans and alums as you guys do. Clemson has a very small student body 17,000 up from 12,000 in the mid 80's and much smaller prior to that. We don't have many alums and we have many relatively nearby Division 1A schools.

both Suh and Spiller have one more game to prove themselves.

Suh will be playing on a much more televised and important event. Many more people will watch Texas in the Big 12 game than the ACC title game.

I think sadly Spiller is on the outside looking in.

And either way the Heisman will be decided during the Big 12 Championship game and the SEC championship game.

If you are a player on a team that is not a title contender then you are not going to win the heisman this year anyways.

Seriously, until I went to that website I never heard of Suh

Dec 1, 2009, 3:08 PM

and aside from here I've never heard of him anywhere else.
Never once heard his name spoken. I dont even know how it's pronounced.
Who is he??

Do you watch football outside of the ACC? I can't fathom how you don't know who Ndamukong Suh is. He's been a headliner all season long, and most of last year.

Did you not watch the Gator Bowl last year? Suh was instrumental in Nebraska's win with eight tackles (two for loss), two sacks and several pressures/hurries on your QB. He helped shut down Davis and Spiller in the running game.

You're kidding about not knowing who Suh is, right?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Have to agree with you on this one...think he even blocked

Dec 1, 2009, 3:18 PM

a FG in the game.

He definitely owned our young Oline in that game and harassed Harper all day long.

Yep, forgot about that. Suh did get that block. The guy is just a beast.

That depends.... what's a coot?

I'm a Husker fan. Does that make me a coot? I think maybe we're talking about different definitions of what a coot is...

knapplc I meant to post that as a reply to the person that said they never heard of Suh.

Gotcha.

BTW - what is a coot? I used to call my grandpa an "old coot" sometimes. I assume it means something different here?

Carolina Lamecock fan

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's just the guy that ran all over us last yr @ the Gator

Dec 1, 2009, 3:44 PM [ in reply to Seriously, until I went to that website I never heard of Suh ]

If you were at the game, it seemed like the biased pa announcer was saying "SUUUUUUHHH!" about every five minutes. He's a very good player, I'd like to see him go to my nfl team.

Now that CJ is back on the ballot, the ratio is down to 3:1 in favor of Suh.

We Husker fans are tenacious when it comes to these online votes, especially when we can get a Heisman vote for our guy by doing this. So good luck - there are only 68 hours left!

@Obed - We have a t-shirt. It says, "Welcome to Nebraska - Bring Something To Do." The people here are nice... but we've got nothing else.

@Clembert - Thanks. Seems like a lot of good folks here, too. But please don't mention Clemson and The 80s in the same breath to me. I still have vivid memories of 1982 and your victory in the MNC game.
