NBA mock draft has JB going in 2nd round

42nd pick to Utah. I could see him going if he graduates. Could always work up to a 1st round pick at the combine.

What a weak draft class***

Considering there are only two rounds....

Mar 4, 2016, 8:51 AM

and each round has 30 total selections, 42nd would put him in the middle third of the second round.

I believe KJ was taken 32 overall although I do think KJ was a little more prepared for the next level than JB currently is.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

limited window of time to play in the NBA for someone like

Mar 4, 2016, 9:27 AM

JB-- the sooner he goes, the broader the window and quicker he gets to a 2nd contract if he makes it. The fact that he RS, makes it almost impossible for him to stay IMO. Unfortunately, I think the wise decision is to go pro. He'll either make an NBA team or make $ overseas.

No guaranteed contracts in the 2nd round

Middle of 2nd round almost guarantees NBDL or Europe these days

i love jb, but he's not ready yet.

he needs another year.

GoTiguhs!!

The NBA doesn't take many 23 yr old rookies.

Which is what JB will be if he returns. Plus, next year's class is really, really deep. My guess is he's gone.

He will make a team. He's got skills and has gotten better this year and seems to have not even hit his ceiling.
Putting up 31 against a top 3 team and putting up 20 multiple times against ranked ACC teams wasn't an accident.

If he is smart he will go. No reason to stay and put up ridiculous numbers and not have anything to show for it

maybe..but he doesn't have kj's insane athleticism

Mar 4, 2016, 12:34 PM

he may surprise me and make a roster..just don't think he's got nba talent at this point.

GoTiguhs!!

Will his value really improve though?

Mar 4, 2016, 12:53 PM

1 extra year in college doesn't guarantee he will get drafted any higher next year (this is a weak class this year too), nor is it likely to drastically increase his chances of sticking in the league.
