Interesting the way people want Bowden fired after 1 game...

I wonder if people wanted Ford fired after he lost to Virginia Tech in the first game of the 1986 season? I guess that would have been about his 9th season.

Who wants Bowden fired - I love the way the program is going

Hasm't EVER had a losing season. Pretty #### good record against USuC. Second best is a lot better than 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, or even Duke.
Remember, football isn't why you came to Clemson -- or at least it shouldn't have been.

This is a perfect example of why Clemson is where we are and why Bowden is still our coach.

Way to be supportive of your own team. I guess because you don't like Bowden, that you won't support Clemson. I guess if ICAR finds an alternate source of fuel, you won't support Clemson because you don't like Bowden. I think your hatred of Bowden is getting in the way of your commitment to Clemson.
And before you you say anything...don't question my commitment to anything. Read my user name.

somthing good? I am a Clemson fan, I may not have the money to go to every game, but I watch every minute. I hope our team is the best it can be. That is why I hope our program is properly represented by the coaching staff as well as players. I think our players are doing their job. Step it up coaches.

Clemson. Whether you are too ignorant to realize it or not. Sports are a great way to get a school some recognition. Look at Appalachian State. How many people knew anything about App 4 years ago, how many people know about App now? You are clueless. I went to Clemson because of the great tradition in football, their 14th ranked Civil Engineering program is just a great plus.

How would you have any clue what engineering was like during the 90s, did you see some scores or old game tapes or something?

I arrived in 91, and yes we did win the ACC. The next several years were not so good, and our teams were not all that talented. Recall that FSU was not in the ACC in 91 - you should know that!

The recent expansions changed things entirely. The 91 ACC title cam before many of the teams now competing joined the conference.
I am not sure how we did nationally in 1991 and not sure how strong or weak the ACC was as a conference, but I do recall some bad games 92-94 years.

You also do not get to define what makes someone a true fan or true Clemson person.
People have all sorts of reasons to choose Clemson, and some do not give a rip about football or any sports. I happen to love football and am totally pissed at what just happened. Plent of folks are mad, some more than others. Your anger is NOT a measure of your loyalty to Clemson.

It was fun but if getting sort of tiring now.
In 2022, log on to whatever Tnet looks like then and chat with some recent grad who bashes everyone that does not agree and puts down the alum that helped provide the school from which he recently graduated.

In no particular order: Lived 20 minutes away my whole life/Mom went here/Dad went here/Best college around when I graduated/In-state tuition is nice/Outstanding military heritage/I met a wonderful guy when I was 7 named Jim Phillips that told me what else Clemson had in store off the football field/when I was in high school I met a Marine Colonel that said out of all the places he had ever been, Clemson, SC is one of the greatest places in the world/I met a one, Col Sandy Edge, who inspired a Tiger spirit in me like no one had ever done before... it continues

It's one thing to lose a game (which I would have been ok with in the first week), it's another to get blown out when you are a five point favorite and your number one rushing tandem in the nation gets 0 rushing yards! What the **** is wrong with this picture?
Maybe there is some truth to Herbstreit's comment about CU falling behind and quitting. That is the defining moments of an average and great coach and his ability to motivate when the chips are on the table. Folks, we have an average coach!

...NOT send out a team of Division I college football athletes having blown smoke up their a$$es and look like a bunch of rec-league, flag football players!
I can handle a loss if the team plays competitively and gives what it takes to play at this level, but I can't take this sort of pathetic display of Division I football.
I think that I could assemble the best all-stars from Byrnes and Gaffney HS during each of their senior years, given 3 months to prepare and whipped the Clemson team that I saw on Saturday night.
What we got Saturday night for $2.5M/year versus $4M/year (Saban) turned the Clemson football program into a national joke.
$2.5M/year has got to know the ramifications of this type of embarassment on the first official day of the college football season.
The Georgia Dome was packed to the ceiling. It was one of the most spectacular games that I have attended.
My excitement was off the charts.
The first Alabama offesive series scared me s#.%tless!
I realized on that first series that this was a game of men against boys.
As they say..."Men do what they want...boys do what they can."
Alabama was a team of men...the nation saw that Clemson has a team of boys!
Pathetic!

Once again I see people trying to equate support for the university/team with support for the leadership. Balderdash. I love the US of A and have a lot of company in thinking that Clinton was terrible.
