PGA TOUR Evidently the course is playing tougher @ The Farmers Insurance Open, as scores seem to be a bit higher. Jacob’s “snowman” was a dagger, but there is time to settle the ship. Carson and Ben are holding steady . . . Keegan is struggling . . . sorry MyfavOrange® .
Here’s the Link to check on them: https://www.pgatour.com/leaderboard
LPGA TOUR In Florida @ The Drive On Championship . . . Savannah Grewal started on the Back Nine and had two bogies, before birdying 17 and 18 to get back to Even Par for today . . . She is at +3 for the Tournament currently . . . She has the Front Nine yet to play . . . She needs to shoot 2 Under on it to make the Present Cut of +1.
Kudos to her for sporting “The Paw” for her LPGA Profile Picture!!!

Yes Sir, beautiful picture of her. She's tough and will probably hoist a trophy at some point this year.
Jacob's missing his drives left, missing putts, not getting anything close. Then again his playing partner is 6 over too. But he'd be near average round without the snowman. Get a good closing round and increase his payday.

here they are. (attached)
MyfavOrange® , your boy rallied well and is in the Top 38! My guy, Akshay had a nice day and is in the Top 17. Carson and Ben held serve, shooting even par . . . They are in good shape to increase their paychecks tomorrow!
Savannah will have her moments this year, I’m sure!!!

Anybody else see that golfer relieving himself on that secluded tee box at Torrey Pines? He evidently didn't know the drone was hovering overhead.

Nah, I missed that.
Congratulations skeeta56. Your bud tied for 2nd best round and I think I counted only 6 that shot -3 or better. Lots of good golfers took a hit today. I didn't get to watch, were conditions that bad or was it just set up tough. Wind. Tucked pins ?

I've played the harder of the two courses (North I think) and it is brutal for the average player on a normal day, much less with the wind. If the pros keep it in the fairway, it is still hard but they have a chance for a decent score. When I played it if you hit it a foot off the fairway into the rough, you are in deep Kikuyugrass rough, which was impossible to do much with other than hack it out. If you do get a decent break and better lie, you are hitting a 5 iron to relatively small green with a greenside bunker between you and the putting surface. A quail high five iron over a greenside bunker means you ain't stopping it on the green. It's brutal.
A friend on mines brother, John Atkinson, won the Golf Digest contest in 2007 to play the course the week before the US Open. The course was set up similar to the Open course. He played with Tony Romo, Justin Timberlake, and Matt Lauer. John, and 8 handicap shot 114, Romo, a 2 handicap, shot 84, Matt Lauer, a 6.2, shot 100, and Timberlake, a 6.0 shot 98. You would probably see similar scores on most courses set up for a US Open. That illustrates how good the touring pros are!

Announcers said they cut the rough to 3 1/2". Then it rained 3" and they didn't cut it again. The rough is 4-5" deep and if you miss the fairway you aren't likely to hit the green.

I can imagine. A ball in the rough is going to be at least a half stroke penalty.
