Lost 20-13 to them in 1985 even though their head coach (Lou Holrz) was not there since he had left to sign up with Fighting Irish days before.
The Gophers actually have had some good teams in past and slightly lead Clemson in NFL pros drafted and in 1st round.

To some I am sure this will be hard to believe, but I swear it really happened. I made a wager on our game with those Golden Gophers. I stopped by the local pub the next day to pay my loss off, and was told by the bookie to forget it because Clemson was not supposed to lose!!!!
