Who was more lucky, Clemson or NCST?

Clemson taking the game into overtime when NCST's 62% (at the time) kicker missed a clutch field goal in last second of the game in front of the hill in a loud Death Valley
- or -
NCST for even being in a position to win the game in the last seconds considering, they NEVER led at any point in the entire game despite having Clemson turn the ball over 3 times times in the red zone (Dye fumble on goal line, failure to convert on 4th and goal from the 1yd line, Williams fumble on the 4yd line) and two other times with an easy pick 6, and fumble midfield, and Clemson losing star RB in first series to an illegal hit that wasn't even penalized or having the defender ejected?
I would say that the odds of missing that kick were far better that the odds of a top 5 team giving you 5 turnovers (counting the 4th and goal) and losing their top rusher in the first series. NCST was lucky to be in that position to begin with. Too bad for them you can't be lucky all of the time.

A fair point. What is more likely.. a 33 yard field goal miss or 3 fumbles in the red zone. We screwed up more times scoring points than they did so it isnt like they dominated us and we squeaked by on a technicality. They did a good job, played very hard and physical but if we can just hang on to the football this isnt a story.

NCST had a chance to make a game ending play and failed to make the play, we had chance to stop them on thier 4 min drive to set up that field goal try but we didn't make the plays niether. When given a second chance we capitalize on it they didn't. It may not b luck but better teams would have beaten us. On the turnovers seems more like a trend then a fluke. Need to play better if we want to win any kind of championship.

No luck involved here. "Lucky" would have been if the ball had hit a coconut carrying swallow or small localized micro-burst down draft. Missing the FG was just poor execution by the kicking team. Winning and losing in football is made up of a series of small individual wins and losses throughout the game. WE won more of these than NCS on this day.

Exactly, extra points are missed every week with a lot less pressure. The kicker was under pressure and choked. Happens all the time in all sports.

If anything, NC St was unlucky.

We gift wrapped the game, tied it up with a ribbon, and handed it to them. They just couldn't get the ribbon loose.
How unlucky is that for them?

decided the game. Our TO' s were surpassed by their missed FG and then the overtime INT. THEIR mistakes cost them the game.

Plus the missed kick didn't end the game. None of the talking heads will acknowledge that. Each team had an equal chance in OT. The better team stepped up....on offense and defense to close out the game.
