What would Cole have to do to keep the job?

Now that Chad has put it out there that it is possible for Cole to keep the QB job for the rest of the season, what would he have to do in your opinion to hold on to the job after DW is healthy? I assume most would be okay leaving him in if he was putting up Heisman-worthy numbers, but what is the minimum he would have to do for you to support leaving him in? Or should DW be put back in no matter what since he lost the job to injury?

We all know that there is no way Cole stays as starting QB when Watson comes back. He's not a CM type QB, he don't have the wheels. And a CM offense is kind of stale without a dual threat QB.

he won't win it back. CM is just saying this to motivate Cole. If you had a backup starting for an injured qb and they ask you this question you're not gonna say no, knowing that kid has to take the field in a few days.

I have heard coaches say that the starter didn't lose his job, that he was just injured, and they would be the starter when they come back. But all coaches isn't about telling it like it is, b/c they would rather stick with the coach speak over the real deal!!!

Got answers ranging from "score points" and "win big" to "become god" and "break DW's other hand." The chance to witness another Tnet meltdown (over having too much talent on the team) makes me want Cole to succeed even more.

I would like to see him succeed. Heck, if he had played the way we hoped he would or the way Deshaun has I feel we would be 6-0 right now. When we were pinned inside our on 15-20 against UGA Cole didn't show any signs of being able to step up and take control. Because of that our defense, who have been playing lights out, was gassed. We didn't give them a chance. I think Chad knows that the coot game is a must win. For Cole to stay on the field, IMO, has more to do with how quickly Watson heals and if he can regain strength in that finger and throw with accuracy. If Watson can come back and not skip a beat I believe Cole spends his last 3 games of organized football backing up and watching a legend in the making.
To Watson for a minute. I'm going to look at his injury and try to find the silver lining. The silver lining is I hope and believe he stays for a 4th year and gets his degree. He has a good head on his shoulders and will only get better.

It is in OUR best Interest to Have DW prepared for Next

season. The only way to do that is a with a lot of playing time for HIM. How does CS prepare us for next season? CS does not give us a better chance than DW to win any more games than DW would this season. There is absolutely no benefit to keeping CS in over DW except for those CS luvers ie MO and the rest of you

Cole blew a pass to a TE in the FSU game.

He leaned away from the throw so he wouldn't take a hit in the delivery of the pass. That resulted in the ball hitting the ground instead of the TE's hands. I'm guessing it was supposed to be thrown low to prevent a pick. Immediately after that Watson came in and took hit after hit to get his passes off with accuracy.
I believe that was how and where he lost the job. I don't give a chit what the coaches say, go back and review the play and see for yourself. I'm a Cole fan and I don't dump on anything Clemson but that was just wrong of Cole. IMO, Cole isn't going to regain the starting job but DW might be a little off on his passing the rest of the year. That's the only way Cole finishes the season as the starter.
When DW returns he will get only a couple of series at a time. I think the transition will be a conservative one as was the previous.

Unfortunately Cole was clueless about what to do when we had the ball on the one yard line with 18 seconds to play in the half. He might be a senior, but he doesn't really have any true experience. He looks confused and timid out there.
